is it normal for water to drip out of the cat converter flange were it joins to exhaust?
and how could water be getting in the exhuast system? any idea?

you sure its not just coming out of the cat's shroud? It'll just be splash back from the road.
besides, if water could get out of the exhaust if it was even in there, it'd also sound like a tractor.

well when i got my 2.5" system fited they forgot to tighten the cat converter blots which conect to the exhuast,once i conected it sounded so muhc louder,but it has a lil water coming out of were the cat flange is and out of the exhuast

there might be the tiniest little gap, and it could just be some condensation collecting at the bottom, from inside the exhaust pipe.

When i did the exhaust on my fairmont, i only used just the gasket between the headers and the exhaust (dont have a cat). That used to leak at the join between the 2 flanges, due to condensation in the exhaust. Bolts were tight and didnt have an exhaust leak sound but there must of been the slightest gap. Got some of that exhaust gasket paste stuff, undid the bolts holding the 2 flanges, took the gasket out, smeared some of the paste onto the flanges and put the gasket back in, good as gold, no more leak. |
