Heres a good one I am looking at a new set of shocks and I just wanna know what fits a BA/BF best. Iv read abit into it and its hard to find some consistent answers on whats the best sort of shocks for my ride. Iv looked at a decent set of tien coilovers but I just invested in some king springs so I wanna know what fits ? Shortened Monroes are the suggested shock from kings springs but they dont say what height she will sit once there in? Id never trust them anyway since they say SSLs lower your xr6 by 60mm more like 25mm if that  . Koni and Bilstein are hard to find part numbers and some ppl say you need to buy there spring set. So what setups do yas have and what do you guys recommend Im looken for a prity stiff ride ??????

I would be surprised if you find many that would perform better than the bilstein...I have only used them in e series but have been in other brands of car with them and all had noticably improved handling.

The shocks don't alter ride height, its all in the spring.
From my research, I note the following with regards to
a BA/BF XR6 sedan:

Pedders offer 2 shocks for the BA/BF XR Falcons. The Sports Ryder
and the Comfort Gas. Both are compatible with the Pedders lowered
springs. Last time I checked, prices are:
SR front $250 each, SR rear $185 each
CG front $198 each, CG rear $170 each
The Sports Ryders are firm and the Comfort Gas are softer in ride
quality.

KYB offer a front shock to suit the XR cars, part No. 333406 at $150 each.
(I had good results with KYB struts and King Lows in my old EB. They actually
went in to replace Monroes that failed after 6 months.)
I wouldn't suggest using this shock with super lows.
KYB dont offer a rear shock for the BA/BF

Monroe have a GT Sport shock to suit lowered cars (low and super low).
The rear is part No. 15-0582 at $295 for the pair.
I have not researched the front strut option in Monroe, as I have not
had good results with them personally. I have not heard much about
the GT Sport range, but what I have heard is not complementary.
Note: Their GT Gas range of shocks are no good for lowered springs.

Boge make a front strut for the car, $140 each.
These were researched through some obscure supplier in QLD. I have
heard good reports on BOGE.
Suitability for super low is unknown.

Koni and Bilstein are in the high end and I have not researched these
much at all. The prices are high, and so is the quality and performance
I gather. Koni Red rear shocks, as a price example, are about $300 each
from memory.

Camber Kit
I suggest you go for a camber kit on the front with any lowered spring
setup. Many people may say they are not necessary, but personally they
are a must. Kits will improve front end behaviour and tyre life.
Nolathane make a suitable shim type kit for $165. Ratchet type kits are
another option and more expensive.

Hope these notes are helpful. I urge you to double check any information
or opinions and then make an informed decision for yourself.

Good luck with the project.
