anyone fitted one before? im sorting mine out at the moment, running a laptop with gps reciever, obd connector wireless internet and 7 inch lcd. im going to cut out my dash and re mould and respray

Yeah, it's been done before, and many times. I had one years ago in my EL.

Trickiest bits are sorting out power, and the user interface. What you planning for those?

get an ssd, tinyxp and centrafuse. the software downloadable via torrents of course :wink:

ive formatted my laptop and am just running basic xp home, with centrafuse 2.. its a pretty good program but i need to find a serial .. it expires in 30 days.

i have a 300w dc-ac converter to run power to the laptop and lcd screen is 7" lilliput touch screen with usb interface. i couldnt find a MOTORIZED lcd touch screen by itself without all the dvd and extra wank so just got normal touch screen and ill chop my dash and put it up near centre air con vents. and running sound through ai-net cable into my stereo setup

i am about to undertake this kinda thing but i was thinking
# re program a fast 12v thin clint or net terminal
#external usb hard drive
#tv card/device
#8 inch car lcd
# usb mouse ball under cup holders
#usb hub for external devices
#bluetooth dongle,gps,nextg etc
wishes full j3 tuning package to make holdens cry
put it this way i want to data log and email from my car then open my returned tune in the car and load it up: )
i am a lcd screen and a j3 tuning package short away from my goal : (

Yeh SSD storage if you dont mind the $$$ is the best way to go for minimal current draw, heat and vibration resistance but heavy on the hip pocket.
