yeh my engine is ticking when i start it and it ticks faster when i accelerate. it sounds like the wheel of fortune. it seems to be coming from the block. could it be the head gasket or something?

its more than likely your one or a couple of your lifters is worn out. There pretty cheap to get i think ford sell them.

it will be one of the lifters in the 12 rocker arms.

its quite common, things like a change of oil can fix it, or could be down to ware and tare, if its shotch its not hard to replace, just very fiddly and can be time consuming if you dont get it right 1st time, just ask anyone whos done a camchange haha.

May i suggest changing the oil and replacing with a fresh batch with some worn lifter treatment. that procedure got rid of the noise in my old eb

what do you mean worn lifter treatment? is it a liquid or something? or do u mean fix it myself?

it is a nulon product and it is called "Lifter-Free & Tune-Up" will help dissolve and dislodge harmful varnish and carbon deposits that accumulate within hydraulic lifters and cam followers without causing any damage to oil.

yea my ef just started doing that and its anoying is this a common problem? should you change them right away or can u leave it for a wile and wat would the concequences be if u leave it?

No, just take off the inspection cover on the bell housing and tighten the bolts if loose.
