my EF's headlights are all clouded over and i can barely see anything if i'm not in an area wit street lights.
is there anyway to make the headlight plastic like new again or will i need to buy a whole new headlight case. |

mine r startin to go yellow. i saw the other day in a bursons catalogue that you can buy some cleaner stuff for it. wasnt very expensive but ufortunitly i cant remember what it was called. but im sure you could go to repco or super cheap nethin like that they sell it as well.

do a search on ebay for - headlight repair, there are a few different products available from usa sites some around $12 inc post. there was another thread on here which a few people tried glassylite or glassylight and that worked also

I can't find the post again that I got this from so unfortunately I cannot attribute it correctly, but I used this method with success. The lights are now clear but I have yet to use them as the car is still off the road but it seems to work....

The screw is located in the engine bay just above the indicator. Slide it out. Next run tape uder the headlight the length of the bumper. Apply a couple of layers as they will wear through. ok now we are ready.... get a bucket of water mixed with detergent and dunk the wet and dry 600 in. start sanding slowly with light pressure, in a back and forth motion from left to right. keep dunking the sandpaper because it will clog fast. It will take some time, however be patient because soon you wil notice it has developed a milky film on the lens. next repreat the process with the 800, then the 1200, and finally the 2000. It should be nice and clear at the time you are ready to use the 2000 wet and dry, but i prefer to use it as it gets the finer detail. ok now apply the plexus (or whatever wax you have). this is it. your lens should look brand new. this has worked really well for me. i have an ef had the same problem i got a headlight restorer kit from autobarn for 30 bucks worked a treat

Interesting... I've done it with brasso and mag cleaner to great effect.. or good old cut and polish...
you just need to take the damaged surface layer off and buff it.. doesn't matter what you use as long as you don't damage the underlying material. |

i got some of that reapir stuff didnt work as well as i thought it would. so i went @ it with a bit of elbow grease and some cut and polish and mine woz really yellow they look brand new saved me $$$.
