i have purchaced a dual stage shift control mudule (shift kit) and i was wondering waht the some of the pros and cons are e.g is it good or bad for the gaerbox?? help would be much apriciated cheers

Pro: Faster shifts
Con: Needs to be serviced every 6 months Pro: Quicker car Con: Suicide in wet Pro: You can tell your mates "i've got a shift kit" Con: You can tell your mates "Yeah it's getting a new gearbox, cos i munched the old one" Pro: Chirpies in 2nd. Con: Only 17 year olds will buy it if you ever sell. Pro: It's a cheap enough mod Con: Where do you stop..........???

sory guys i forgot to mension the price in total including postage it was $110 orderd form shiftkits.com also service was good it only took 2 days to arive.

It would be good for gearbox as it wont be 'slipping' into gear, less slipping, less heat, means good for gearbox
Downside, depending on how harsh the shifts are with the shiftkit on, increased stress on driveshaft, uni's, diff As long as the shifts aren't ridiculously hard, it'll be fine. |

There very gay! i made my own and it was poo... not worth the stuffing around imo
Sure it shifts harder and chirps into second, but the novelty wears off.

Can't comment for that product, but 'shift kits' do not necessarily affect life expectancy on a box. Obviously if some will if they aren't designed well/run ridiculously high line pressures.
