Allright, the rear muffler has broken off at the welding and is just hanging there buy the J brace (lucky this happened while not having a licence) so i am thinking to get a whole new exhaust system put in.
Got only one quote though for $1400 which includes pacemaker extractors, high flow cat, and (didn't say but presuming) 2.5 inch pipes. Now, i was just having a look through ebay and can buy most parts separetly so can grab the comp 4480's for 100-200 bucks cheaper, but was looking at the magnaflow cats.. would these suit an AUIII?? It just says that it will fit most makes and models but want to just be sure... Also, They have a sports exhaust on ebay too; http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-AU-FALCON-U ... 7C294%3A50 Would these be suitable for the setup or would it be better to get maybe a redback from an exhaust shop? Is there some kind of piping included between the extractors and cat? I'll prob grab another quote too for installation but how much would it cost to get all the parts fitted roughly? |

As for the exhaust you should be able to get a redback fitted for under $400 |

My rear muffler fell off of my EB XR6, took it to pro-fix and got them to just weld a piece of 2.5" pipe and get rid of the rear muffler, sounds way better now anyway, cost around $80 i reckon

i went to a couple places and got quotes for 2.5 inch catback wiht one muff and small resi for $300 inc installation then the cost of the tip on top of that (i already had one anyway).
while i was at it i also got quotes for the whole thing pacemakers, 2.5 highflow cat and cat back system as mention above. one place said $1250 inc installation and another said $1200 also inc installation. so i ahve decided to wait and only get the cat back for now and track down my own pacies and then ask about a at and putting in the ppacies i had purchased should save some $$ that way

Exact same thing happened to me havok, but still got 5 weeks till i get my licence back so thought i might aswell get the whole system done (cheers rudd lol)
Yer happydude it works out heaps cheaper sourcing your own parts, at the end ill prob save around $300-500 and thats with better extractors too. Any input on the 100cpsi cat converter?? its about 10 bucks cheaper than a 200cpsi manaflow but i think its just cause its a no-name.. |

I would go with a known brand eg the magnaflow over the no name brand
the small difference in cpi will make very little difference in power thats what everyone said to me when i was doing mein

Remember just because it has less cells doesn't mean the quality of it is any better. I would stick with the magnaflow.
Also the exhaust for a ute will be more expensive then a sedan (but shouldn't be by much). That price isn't too bad if it is with 4480's; I paid $900 for 4480's, magnaflow cat and no name exhaust for a sedan.
