Then at the back will be a nice set of twin tips of some sort. Hate to break it to you but a hot dog is a resonator. Just 2 different names or the same part. As for the twin tips I got twin tips on my XF and it sounds tough. But these tips are bent down like dump pipes and the pipe where they merge fits inside the main tailpipe so the exhaust is kind of choked. Good for sound but bad for overall grunt. It sounds like a worked 2V 250 but would harly go like one. I must be thinking differently, doesnt a hotdog increase the sound? I have been told that by heaps of exhaust specialists. Ne way what i meant was for something to keep the sound down a bit so aleast it would be legal in that sense. I was thinking of twin dump pipes, either that or a single pipe split into two. But with a much bigger diameter. If that doesnt look ne good then im going with an oval tip

See those ridiculaously large cannons on the back of cold 4's? They are based around an old school square edged hot dog but their dimensions are what makes them sound like loud s**t. Try tapping on a small diameter copper pipe then try tapping on a 20 gallon drum and tell me which makes more noise. It those canons were about 60% smaller they would sound much sweeter and might flow better due to less turbulence in the exshaust from rapidly changing pipe diameters.

You mean the old Pinapple shooters F**k they look stupid. Its like getting one of those $20 Milo tins (those friken huge ones) and using that as a tip. Ne way back to the subject at hand, is thier ne one who can shed some light on these race mufflers. Has ne one heard one on a six b4?

LOL it didnt help much, i believe that none of those sounds were from a racing muffler and they didnt even have specific cars either. Pretty general with thier selections.
They did sound good thou, i just need to hear what the race muffler sounds like thou

To me resinators are like little versions of a muffler (that usual oval cylcinder shape), a hot dog is looks like a larger peice of pipe a circular cylinder shape. Hotdog:

Hmm i just had a theory, a race muffler would backfire alot more wouldnt it, eg downshifting and easing off the throttle etc? Would that sound really high pitched/Crackling sound or would it be a deeper sound?
Hmmm i wonder, i wish those Lukey dudes would hurry up and contact me!

Woops three posts in a row ... oh well.
Um yeah the customer relations worker from Lukey called me about 30minutes ago, and he basically told me if i was interested in the race muffler, then check out the sound clip of it on the Lukey website. So i did it sounded nice buuut that was the Ultra flow muffler on that sound clip. Altough the sound is similar between them, the construction is slightly more advanced and longer lasting. Hes gonna give me prices tommorow. Atleast im one step closer now

Will do!! Shouldnt be too long away and i will be able to get it all ordered and paid for. I have decided to go with the Race muffler too I like the sound of it plus with the cammy sound that LPG gives me it should sound pretty damn wicked if i decide to go with this setup. Hopefully i found out about the prices tommorrow.

One thing to consider for twin tips is the factory Fairmont rear muffler (essentially it's just a straight thru resonator) - as it's single in with twin pipes to the bumper, bent properly to fit Falcon.
I'm looking at fitting a 2.5 Hooker Aerochamber main muffler and one of those Fairmont rear ones.
