hey guys
ive got an EL FALCON GLI, a little while ago i got my car lowered all professionaly done, and about 2 or 3 weeks ago i noticed a clicking sound coming from undernearth the front end i first though it might have been my centre bearing/ uni joint but after closer analysis it seems to be coming from the front somewhere near the wheels i jsut cant pin point where as it only does it when im driving?? anyone heard of this before or got any ideas? thanks |

does it do it standing still, engine running? maybe exhaust leak, hla's
or just when driving , screw in the tyre, stick or something rubbing on the disc, warn disc pads or caliper slides |

bit random, but i have a click in the front of my ute whilst driving, after a bit of searching, turned out to be the plastic garnish's on my rims creaking as each one passes the bottom of the rim with all the weight on it. i only noticed this after removing and refitting the rims one day. possibilty if you have hubcaps or something?

I also have an EF Falcon Gli and its not lowered though and making the clicking sound only when its driving and silent you can hear it then. I refitted the hubcaps but it still makes the noise i don't know if it always or sometimes but im heading towards sometimes.

yeh mine has/had been doing this...took the wheel off and repacked the bearings.....sound seems to have gone away.....
but i think it was actuallythe wheel trim causing the sound....the metal ring in the trim was slightly out of place so i clipped it back in properly..... im not 100% sure ive solvedd it yet as it was only late last week i did this

Sorry mate i was having a laugh, cv joints are on front wheel drive cars.
It could be as simple as a rock caught in the groves of the tire? id suggest just jack the front of the car up and turn the wheels and see if you can hear it. Look for rocks and or nails/screws in the tires. If you don't/do find or hear anything, report back here and we will go from there. It could be allot of things its just a process of elimination.

my mont has a slight rattle, i wouldn't even call it a rattle more of a shake.. whilst moving, usually coasting, it's the brake shims.
on the spot the steering makes rather loud clicks when turned, usually changing direction but not always. apparently this is normal. and since it doesn't affect the performance of it and theres no nothing visually wrong with it i haven't been too worried.
