sender
petrol
gas
ground

the switch i have at the moment has two seperate boxes, one for the switch and one for the guage. the guage is labelled but the switch isnt

im guessing on the unlabelled switch the red is +12v, blue is sender. the yellow and the brown i have no idea
any one help me out rewiring the new switch?
cheers

It would be a safe assumption that the wire colours would be the same at each end.

i dont think the switch u bought suits that gas system. do u have a small black box under the bonnet (usually on the passenger side at rear) wired up to the convertor?

I think you are little confused as in most LPG cars the petrol sender is the fuel gauge in the cluster.
The gas sender is the only one going to the old LPG gauge so will go to the new switch labeled sender.

My thoughts on the petrol and gas labels is that it will provide power to those systems when the switch is selected

this is a fairly old system pretty sure mit was installed just after the bloke bought the car.
the switch is the old box that is labelled and the fuel guage is the other unlabelled box.
so i cant switch them over?

get a test light, with engine running on either petrol or gas,see which wire has power in it,then swap over and make sure the other has power, then you'll know which is which.
and get those dents fixed
