found a clean maunal EF last night for a good price.
only thing being the clutch pedel has about an inch of movement in it from side to side.
it works fine but it feels kind of loose and unstable.
anyone shed some light on this for me?
i want this car but dont want to have to replace the pedel box or someting??

Possibly, the nylon(?) bushes are worn out and need replacing. The brake and clutch pedal both have them. Sooner or later, the pedal box will need to come out for repairs. Ford made it out of thin sheetmetal, didn't reinforce it and didn't stop it flexing.

mine did that after it had almost snapped the pedal box when there was just a lil bit of steel holding it on, does it creak when you press the pedal.

not too hard to pull out and weld up again.

better to fix it than have it snap away from home, i was lucky mine snapped a few 100m from my house.

to check this hop under the dash with a tourch and have a look around the pedal mounting point.

I dare say it is cracked or cracking a simple fix in my books (Search the site type in cracked pedal box)
