i have an EF ho 5ltr and have an explorer manifold i want to fit to it. there doesn't seem to be anywhere to fit the air intake sensor to the new manifold. I have seen one that was put into the donut hole between the airbox and the TB. Would this be okay? I was a bit worried about doing this as i guess the air temp would be lower here than in the manifold. Would this even matter?
I run my car mostly on LPG, so does that use the IAT sensor and/ or matter?

Stick in the inlet tube. It does make a difference but to fueling more than spark so it'll be fine.

I gathered that the sensor in runner five would be warm from the manifold where in the inlet tube before the throttle body in would be constantly cold. Is this correct ??

You could fit a pot in parallel with the ACT and offset it a bit if it bothers you but I wouldn't worry especially as you run mainly on gas. |

Someone on here mounted theirs in the EGR spacer bit, I'm currently doing this mod too, slowly as i cant get the f**k fuel lines apart or the stupid wiring loom off those prick injectors. But anyways, i will be mounting mine in the intake tube, right before the T/B. Oh and where did you find the extra bolts for the explorer?

I don't have the bolts yet, but i have a couple of people who, hopefully, one of, can get them for me.

Cheers man, that would be great. I'm currently doing the explorer, have done 99% of it, cant get those fuel lines apart to take them out of the car though, what was the trick?
Was considering the Ford Racing phenolic spacer kit for it, have you seen that? Looks the goods. |
