hey guys i was in my mates rex yesterday and i saw he has a pin code ignition system, like turn key then enter a pin code nd the car starts, does anyone know how i would do this to my 98 au fairmont ghia as i think it would look f**k wikid lol????
please help asap??? |

Just a matter of finding a switch which requires a pin code to turn on. How does it know when to turn off though? After entering the PIN does he hold in another button for a while? If so then it's just a momentary switch.
If you talk to Darren from FTG he could probably supply you with the push button starter he's making but without the Engine Start switch. Then all you'd need is to find the PIN switch and use Darrens wiring and it'd almost be plug and play! |

Yeah a pin code immobiliser. Old news. I used to have them in my cars. Long time ago were available at Jaycar electrocics.

its not a pin code ignition it's the WRX STI anti car jack system my brothers sti had it there is a sensor in the seat and every time you get out of the car and back in you have to put in the pin code or else the car turns off after a set time.............. so if you are car jacked at the lights the robber gets a few hundred metres up the road then the car shuts off...........

yep, all wrx's have this from factory.. i dunno bout before 2000 but definately after that.
