Thanks mate, I believe youre right. Got it all back together and it's still the same. I have managed to get a really good pedal though by lubricating the front caliper pistons. The front pads were retracting about 2mm away from the rotor as the rubber oring seal was pulling the piston back. The rear wheels are not getting hot any more since I have fixed the front calipers, must have just been working too hard. The only problem I have now is the rears locking up and front not.

These valves were a small green annodized valve which did their stuff. (All XC V8's had discs fitted from the factory.) But, we seen on more than one occasion where someone had fitted a 6 cyl master cyl to a V8 and sure enough the rears will lock every time. This is because V8's are much heavier over the front end. You mean 302's got drum rear, and 351's got disc rear, same as XD & XE,

I have been burnt to many times by parts shops stating there is no difference with certain parts, don't believe non factory manuals either, especially Ellery's as they are over priced cheap toilet paper.
