hey all,
couple of q's for the tech's, brake lights on ED stopped working, no power at pedal switch, but power at fuse box for stop light circuit, fair chance break in wire b/w fuse box and switch, but can't find any, cruise control fitted to car, no power at cruise either, near pedal box there is a white connector that has always plugged into brake switch, also there is a black connector in the same area, plugged that into brake light switch and brake lights work, but after lights on for 1 minute switch gets almost too hot to touch, a) is this normal, b) what is the black connector for, c) where is the fuse/relay for cruise control. many thanks in advance

I think the brake light fuse and cruise control fuse are the same. This will explain why both don't work. Have you taken out the fuse and done a continuity check from the non live side of the fuse holder too the pedal connection? If the switch is getting hot, I would say that the switch has dirty contacts and hence has more voltage drop than a new one. This will generate heat in a circuit that already has a good amount of current flowing thru it. The switches aren't cheap and I have heard of one forum member carefully pulling his apart and cleaning it successfully.
