the clutch was already kind of on the out, anyway I did a bit of a burnout egged on by mates and drove off, noticed the clutch was feeling different (had to push it further in, different feel when releasing the pedal).
Drove for about 20 mins, was harder to get into gear but still do-able. Parked and left the car for about an hour, got back in and can't get it into gear (clutch pedal fully depressed, won't go into gear without a big fat clunk). So, before anyone rants yes it was a stupid thing to do and yes I have learned my lesson. Now, what could it be? I was thinking the clutch was already worn and I burnt it out even more hence I need a new clutch. But rang a mechanic mate and he said it could just be the fork, maybe the clutch slave cylinder, or even the clutch cable. Ideas? Its too dark to have a look so I left the car parked on the street. Thought much appreciated. |

Does it slip?
Put it in 3rd and see if you can take off? Have you checked the cable?

doesn't slip once in gear.
trouble is getting it into gear. and i can't get it into gear without a massive clunk and i'm pretty apprehensive to do that because I know a new clutch is going to be cheaper than a new gearbox |

Check you have not cracked the fire wall. If it is good try adjusting the cable where it goes through the fire wall, if the problem returns it is time for a new clutch.

yeh will check in the light,
taking it (well trying to..) take it to a mechanic to have a look at it tomorrow. Thing is it will hold gear as long as its in there so i'm thinking a bent fork or misaligned cable or something |

it will be either fork, firewall, springs on clutch or collapsed the fingers on the clutch housing. fork is easy enough, clutch issue of springs or fingers will require a new clutch, firewall.. time for some fun. either way all of these things are gonna cost you some coin.

pedal box rooted - clutch pedal came off the box
previous owner did a s**t house job at welding it back before (and kindly didn't tell me after asking) new pedal box a b**ch to install so i'm getting it welded up properly as we speak, bloke is very good, but looks like it will be a new pedal box in the future if it goes to the s**t again.. thanks for the imput |

The clutch fork bushing ( what the cable hooks onto ) could be pulled through a bit. I had this happen to me once, then the cable became unhooked shortly after, the fingers straightened out a bit to let the cable end off.
Just a thought.....

thanks but yep the problem was the peddle, was all bent, the welder took it to pieces and a few hours later it was good as new with reinforced plates.

i had the same thing happen about a month ago but the peddle box was fine. so i bout a new clutch and flywheel
 cushion button the wasy of the future
