So are they any good,the motor has four bolt mains,forged (I think) pistons,closed chamber 302 heads etc etc,well so they say,sposed to be good for over 400 hp...
Will see once we get it in the lads XY,any static test to see if the vac thing works??? |

That's a '69 428 CobraJet carb. It's 735cfm and they are worth big bucks! Pete. So I presume they are rare then??? Well the motor it's on is sposed to have 400hp at the wheels. Would one stick with this carby or what,remember,we havent driven it... So can ya tell me Pete,what the hell does that ven... |

This is an OEM carbie, looks like it might be off a Dodge truck (simillar to my 650). That vent is for the fuel bowl, and is part of the emissions control. I ahve taken mine off and sealed the hole, as the fuel bowl is still vented through the air filter. So what did you gain by getting rid of that... |

To be honest it's been that long i can't remember lol... I think it was a type of vent though. I used to know all the popular list numbers off the top of my head, i forgot those long ago. The list number is hard to read, is it 4679? I dont think time has anything to do with it,more like the time ya... |

It's not a DP, it's a Vac Sec, without looking up the list number i'd say it's a 780, basically a 750 with a metering block on the back. Thanks for that,took ya long enough but! :roll: Forgot to ask,whats that do flickie that opens and shuts,some sort a vent? http://img.photobucket.com/... |

You have to calibrate the stick on new sumps like these. 9.5L is too much. 7.5L is the most you need. The high energy pan I used on my 351w came with an aftermarket stick that is nothing like the original. If I had used the Full mark that was on it it would have been coming out the rocker cover!
