Hi all :)

Thought I'd share with everyone my '96 EFII GLi I got it mid-December last year with 170K on the clock. Elderly single owner, body work is in good nick, interior is perfect. It had just had a major service, a whole bunch of stuff replaced and new tyres put on not too long ago.

Figured for the price I payed, I couldn't go wrong especially since you lose the same amount in stamp duty on a new car :P

First things on the to-do list were the removal of the louvre, weather shield, bonnet protector, mud flaps and the mid-90's hands-free kit :S

Image

In the time that I have had it, I have replaced the taxi-spec cloth interior with some leather goodness out of a NF Fairlane and a woodgrain shifter, changed the centre console (It had holes from the old phone kit). I changed the headlights and indicators as I blowing lights all the time, the dash globes have all been changed and fitted with red silicone sleeves (CBF mucking about with LEDs right now).

I just finished putting a Fairmont green BCM, Fairmont dash loom, trip computer, climate control and a Tickford ECU.

To come in the near future will be a mandrel bent intake, super-low springs, a Fairmont instrument cluster and perhaps some EL GT rims. If I can get my cousin to sell me his at a good price :P

Image

Hope you like :D

Cheers guys :D

Got plenty of big plans, but we'll see what actually happens, we all say we'll have a 1000hp fire-breathing monster hahaha

Having said that, I've been reading up on the wealth of info on here and a bit down the track I think i'll be giving Snort Performance a ring to suss out their supercharger kit.

Of course before I do that, there's the preparatory work like cam, injectors, exhaust, extractors, fuel pump etc to be done before i even think about forced induction of any sort.

I'm new to the car modding scene so i've got lots of reading and research ahead of me lol

Rightyo Updates! UPDATES! Wacked in a fairmont cluster and wired up the low coolant sensor, kings superlow spings now make it sit and drive waay better than stock. I have picked up a 94DT tickford head and cam for $120ph <3 u ebay! I was thinking about a crow stage 3 cam to go in along with some stiff valve springs and vernier cam gears. Unless someone else has a better alternative?

I now have a T5, a 2000km old 5 puck ceramic clutch (unknown brand), aftermarket flywheel, manual ECU, alloy tailshaft, EL GT shift boot, and an AU Tickford momo gear knob sitting in my shed too!

Once I get my lathe & mill going I'll do up my own gear stick as the one I got with the T5 is a fully sik custom job with a ball-bearing welded to the end max restecp there LOL

Also I'll be getting a billet shifter from these guys in fairly short order: Billet Products Australia

Things are moving along nicely

Will love to see this car when it is sitting a bit lower when you put the super low springs in.
