12.2 with HEAPS of wheel spin.. Yea just like Serious V8's DVD.. In that case sh!t Dunlop rear tyres..
It has ever only had 245 X 15 radials..
MPH is 128.. Big front brakes limit decent tyres.. Well more the point.. I'm NOT spending 3K on wheels..

Thought I'd try my hand at making the bonnet fit..
Image
Bit more spray on putty and I'm done...
I wish I protected the paint while welding..
This new paint doesn't come off too easy...
I couldn't have done that good of a paint job ??

Really really nice work mate - I was in awe of your skills and got to `yeh chucking together a sheetmetal intake' and I started to get REAL jealous....unreal work!!

Like a lot of others I wouldn't mind having a go at a TA22 / RA 28 at some point - VERY interested in your rack and pinion swap from a later Corona - exactly what model did you use? Or is there maybe a range of years that you can do this with?

I don't want to quote the wrong Corona but it was a Super Response motor and I thought
at the time it was ten years newer than the Celica.. I just measured the chassis rails
which are the same .. The top macpherson strut location point is 24mm narrower on Celica..
Which is no issue on a performance vehicle ..
The steering shaft even fitted up to the original column bolts under dash..
The rear bolt in Xmember to chassis rail was used as the Celica bolts are further apart
by approx 20mm. I just drilled the Xmember and welded in a 14mm tube to extend nut away
from braces on Xmember so nut can be tightened properly..
Yes your right.. track only car..There's 16" between outer guard and four link as the tubs are wider than four link..
I am a Lineworker by trade.. This sort of work has always been my hobby...
When I grew up on a diary farm in NZ.. I would often visit guys building N.Z stock cars...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9iFiRpi8JY
As you can see after race meeting there was heaps of repaires..
The rules are engine must be under 4.0 and have carb.. NO EFI...
Many engines make easy 400 h.p...
The most popular are 1UZ and Ford 4.0 Falcon engines..

Good to see some more progress....

Bonnet doesnt look to bad for a first effort. Dont ya hate it when you get a good idea a bit too late....lol

Manifold has come up pretty nice. I take it no intercooler, just off the compressor to the T/B??

I have always liked the shape of your celica, except with a 347...hehehe.

Just finished a mates GT4 with new turbo manifold and intercooler pipework....Keep up the updates.

Cheers

Nah mate.....here in Sydney....

I didnt want to say the scoops looked a bit crooked.....lol....a smallish pro-stock style scoop wouldn't look too bad i reckon.......ppl would assume a V8....and not necessarily turbocharged....

Cheers
