The main reason was because I have a sleeve in one of the bores as most of you know. Bore distortion would therefor be inevitable, or thats what my engine machinist told me anyway.
Can't see why you'd want to stroke it anyway because to me the 5L is just so much smoother and inherintelly more reliable. The balance between power and economy is very important to me. The stroker is really only .5 seconds faster which is heavily outweighed by its immense thirst IMO.

My god you are still alive and still posting rubbish about strokers. 5l so much more reliable which is why one of yuor bores is sleeved and why your car has seen so little road time lately. Yeah, real reliable that is.

Dude stop trying to rev me up, your shallow remarks don't even add up to a grain of salt.

When I get my car on the road I'll see you at CALDER PARK. I'll put $100 on the line if you beat me.
If You feel intimidated by my slightly larger knowledge base well GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Mate, you wanna have a good, hard look at RedXR347's build. One dead sexy AU with plenty of balls to boot. You may be able to get some ideas. I don't think he's having any problems with reliability by the looks and sounds of things.

Nice ride RedXR347

I don't like it one bit myself mate. I'm only going by what my machinist had recommended to me.
I asked him wheteher the bore will have distortion issues, whether the exposed edge on the sleeve will scuff the pistons etc. He told me not to worry and that many motors out of factory come with sleeves installed after casting .
Only time will tell.

If you want to see how much a stock block distorts - just set it up for honing and bolt down a torque plate and measure the distortion as you tighten up the plate. Saw it happen to my current block - Distortion started to get really noticeable at around 65 ft/lb.
Scrapped the idea of torque plate honing for this rebuild -I am getting either BOSS302 or Dart block for the 600hp 331 build. Just procrastinating over the pros & cons of each.
Current combo sitting on engine dyno waiting for wiring harness & sensors for Motec M800 to be completed. More wires than the stock loom as am running individual coil packs. Then a tune with XE276HR cam.
Will also try different size TB's and headers - easy to do on engine dyno.
Richie.

*OFF TOPIC*
Richie call me about a price on a DART block... I'm ordering at the start of the month doing a bulk buy for a better deal. :)

Got 4 on the list so far.

*ON TOPIC*
Everyone ease off on the s**t, lets see what he can achieve.

IMHO I'd have spent the money in other ways, on different parts for a better result, but it ain't mine!

Thanks BOTTLEDUP. I'm not the troll, scum bag, thread wrecker everyone makes me out to be. Yes I'm highly opinionated and therefor cause a fair bit of friction.
I think if we all met in person things would be alot different.

What sort of price are Dart block potentially going for? Was thinking of a bit of extra herbs, but maybe going a bit further might be the go. :D

Also t2te50 , what sort of ETA before she's up and running, looking forward to seeing the results compared to aftermarket vs ford performance gear.

Hope it goes well.
