Ahhh okay. Well I recommend getting wiring from jaycar if you haven't bought it already. Better range for a lot cheaper than in auto shops.
Plus something I learnt the hard way was to have a nice big 30-40amp fuse for each amp inside the boot. NOT in the engine bay like many people recommend. It's just madness..
Hit me up if you have an questions on how to remove trim, good paths to take with the wire etc, I'd be happy to provide explanations or pics if you want it :)

Yes to all of the above, it's the only thing stopping me from starting the wiring to prep for the boot install.
Quick guide on routes to take would be the MOST helpful...

I'll take a bunch of pictures tomorrow.
I hope the XT and the XR share as many design aspects as the XR and GT, it could make your whole install go very smoothly

Well something I've found is that because they're all a very similar car, they share A LOT of the basics, like wire mapping, holes in the fire wall etc. It's how I did some research before trying on my car. Looking like a weirdo inspecting every last detail of the GTs at the local ford dealership.
So hopefully you can just take the work I did and put it into your own car, without breaking anything, like I did a couple times :D

Oh right I understand now... Your efforts are very much appreciated too by the way, I'm keen to modify/upgrade but I get a bit nervous sometimes that I'm making things worse not better... Hence I ask ALOT of stupid questions lol

Yeah, I would not be confident in doing my own wiring and sound system install lol I know I'd break s**t.

Good thread 2Dads, quite a sexy XR you have in your possession. I like the Quad Tips, looks beasty. I'd love to go Quad tips, but I'm going to maintain the tidy look with dumped tips at the rear, so no cutting the bumper lol

Phew I've been away a while. Did this crazy thing... Moved from the city to a house in the suburbs, so I've had no internet!

Anyway while I was in super cheap during those sales before Christmas I bought some goodies, plus the vinyl wrap I ordered from ebay arrived sooooooooo

I got busy during the move.........

And started sanding and painting........

Some wheels.....

And got all of them looking a little something like this!

Tomorrow I'll get a shot of the car with them on. It makes a notable difference. I've already started getting comments on the new.

Anyway, soon I'll put up some wiring pics and how to dismantle and re-assemble the ICC, I believe some people were looking for this info :)

Mate, I'm drooling over those rims! I've been wanting to paint these BA MK1 rims but I haven't got the time or patience lol

Okay so here it is with the rims all nicely painted + New mesh in the front bar, can't really see that though because of the low quality of the pic

Plus I added some more carbon fiber Vinyl to continue the feel through the car a bit more.

It's a bit dodgy in spots, but that's what happens with improvised tools and zero experience ;)

Thats impressive stuff... that does look very good, nice and hot too i bet lol

cheers for that ICC thread too. now that my computer isnt playing up, ill get that shocks/brakes/pads info up for those of you who want it. i know its relatively easy stuff, but i definitely learnt a few what NOT to do things lol especially doing it all without coil compressors, damaged a few little things in the process unfortunately :s

oh well, ill go take some more pictures and get that up by the end of the day hopefully.

Some shocks info would be awesome dude. Although I got a general idea it's always good to have the detailed stuff on these cars. Seems Ford wanted to make things that little bit more difficult for us :P
