I took The car in to BPT today to get a base dyno run done before the work gets done. When it got tuned 6 months ago, it ran 210.5rwhp. Since then though, I've felt that there's no way it was making that. It always felt it was starved for fuel. Well, whose a d***head then?!?!?!

I've been running it on the wrong setting this whole time! When I got the car back back then, I was told that the performance tune was on one end of the switch and the standard tune was on the other. I could never tell the difference between the two. On the dyno today we discovered that one would have been the standard tune whilst the other is more than likely the 95 octane tune. Both with pretty lean afrs.

We found the performance tune at position 2 and it ran a decent 211.6rwhp on shootout mode. Obviously a much better power curve and better torque range goes without saying. On the road it pulls all the way to the redline, unlike before when it would s**t itself at about 4200.

Next thing now is to get it down to the Motorplex this Wed hopefully to see if I can get a couple of good runs out of it. I'd expect to venture into the 14s now quite easily.

When I get a chance I'll scan the dyno sheet and post it up.

I can't believe I've been running it like this for 6 months like a pig! What a f**k!!!!

The TFS heads do come with a 2.02" intake valve, the ability to run this with standard pistons comes from the rotated valve position rather than a 'higher' chamber.

There is a limit to how large a cam you can run, which is mentioned on TFS's website.

The nice part about TFS Trick flow heads is the 2.02 valve can be used.. The chambers are higher .. A blower would make them breath real heavy...Keep fly wheel power around 400 h.p....
Unless you find an early 302 block...
400 h.p and safe tune, you'll be fine!!!

Excuse my ignorance and possible dumbness  , but does this mean I would be able to go a bigger cam without having to worry about valves and pistons trying to push through each other? Or am I way off the mark?

Hence the name; "Twisted Wedge".

Yeah that was me. Then looked at the dyno graph and it gave me the answer. The power of the edit button. :D
My auto's not to far behind a stockish manual then.

Yeah, just the underdrives, maf, tweecer and zorst. Hopefully all the new stuff will make a considerable jump over the poxy HO manifold and e7s

What size MAF are you running at the moment? 75mm? Are you using your standard MAF electronics? Pretty decent dyno figure as it is. I guess being a 5 speed helps a bit.

I went down to the Motorplex tonight and was fortunate to get one run in. f**k rain!

I went there hoping to run a 14 and I did straight out with a 14.918@150.39kph. Had a s**t start and need to work out gear changes so will hopefully get a 14.5 next week. Everyone there tonight gets in next week at no charge. Sweet!
