It can be sorted. I wouldnt touch it personally until it can be re-dynod as if it opens up full if untuned for WOT something unforseen may happen.... not worth risk IMO.

Scaffy, give me a ring tomorrow when you pick your car, seeing as though your up this way pop round and i'll fix it for ya. Ball is in the right spot, just cable bracket needs to be set back, i had to do it on my ute when i was assembling it again when i used the Ford racing 70mm T/B from the states. Give me a bell mate.

WOT conditions are rich as at the moment so i cant see the extra bit of throttle having a negative effect. We'll have to reset TPS etc aswell.

It looks like I'll have to make one more appearance down the strip next week... bummer

Hahah, any excuse will do.
If it does make a difference, I may have to follow suit and have a tinker.

My afrs @ wot are around 11:1 at the moment. I'm hoping a bit more air in the mix will help my cause.

Scaffy wrote: Thanks Jeff, I'll definately take you up on that. Looks like I'll have to try and get it on a dyno again this weekend just to be sure. I've got my sister's car for a couple of weeks, so it may pay to drive my car as little as possible, just to be safe, until I check the afrs.
It looks like I'll have to make one more appearance down the strip next week... bummer No worries mate, i'll await your call. Yeah i'd advise another run on the dyno just to check. I'd pop over to MCE in wangara, they were very good with mine, and would be good to compare on the same dyno. Yeah with a bit of luck i'll be able to make it down in the missus new car, will see how things pan out.

What do they charge at MCE for the power run?

$80 for 3 runs all printed out. We even had a play around with fuel pressure too to adjust the AFR's, they were really quite good.

That's pretty good. Will give them a call tomorrow and see if I can book it in. Anyways, off to sleep now. Too many late nights.

I second Jeff's suggestion, Tim at MCE Motorsport (if thats the same place) is very helpful.
Hope you get it sorted easily mate.

I picked the big girl up tonight and no more exhaust leak noise! It's the first time it's had no noise since I've had the top end in. To say it feels good is an understatement I also got the throttle body sorted, which I'll get on to in a minute.
I got a call from Dom at Prestige Exhaust today at around 3:30 to tell me that he'd welded up all the primaries to be sure there's no more leaks, but it sounded worse than it did when it came in after starting it up. What he discovered was that there were major leaks coming from the backs of the heads. The heads that were supplied to me were a set of emissions legal heads which have holes for egr. Normally when these kinds of heads are fitted here, a plug is put in to block them up and off you go. In my case they weren't blocked off and off I went. So when Dom had fixed up all the leaks at the headers, all the pressure was then coming out the back. I'd just finished work in Kwinana when I got the call, so on my way up there I stopped past A1 High Performance and thanks to Dave (BOTTLEDUP), he fixed me up with 2 of these plugs I required. I got up to Prestige at about 5 and we got the plugs in and Voila! No more leaks!!! Straight from there I went to Jeff's (XH5LWEPN) and he sorted my throttle body for me so it opens up fully at WOT, instead of about 2/3. I think it's made a difference, but couldn't really give it too much curry as the roads were wet by the time I knew where I was. It was a pretty simple fix by packing a nut and washer behind the tb bracket. It took a few goes, but thanks to Jeff's persistence, it's now spot on. A big thanks, mate. schnoods, I'd recommend fixing yours as well before next week. Should see a 13.7! So all in all, it's been a pretty good day for me. I can't speak highly enough of the guys at Prestige Exhausts. I think they even adjusted my clutch and got rid of the squeaking. I'll have to find out tomorrow.

I might have to do something on the weekend then.
Might have a bit more in it, especially mine being an auto, it affects the way it shifts. Hmmmmm. I might have to join you there Chad if it all gets sorted.

Chad, im glad i could help and get it sorted for you and that your happy with it. As you said all it came down to was persistence and patience, something i think that was lacking by whoever had assembled it in the first place. It wasnt a hard job by any means, you just have to know what your looking for, and after fitting an a/market T/B, especially something from the states, these things really have to be checked as they just arent a "bolt on" deal.
As i said i went through the same thing when i fitted the 70mm Ford racing T/B from the states, even though i used the linkage from my std T/B and even used an AU EGR spacer it still wasnt spot on when first assembled, just lucky i wasnt silly enough not to check and adjust it. This goes out as abit of a warning to anyone using a/market T/B's, in fact any change of T/B and/or EGR.

I've got another run on the dyno booked tomorrow. I will be going to MCE to do it. I'm hoping the AFRs have leaned up a bit, but I doubt it. I think a good tune may be next on the agenda.
