I've got another run on the dyno booked tomorrow. I will be going to MCE to do it. I'm hoping the AFRs have leaned up a bit, but I doubt it. I think a good tune may be next on the agenda.

I think the tune should be pretty right. I'd be looking at getting that adjustable reg fitted and going from there. Im eager to see the results of the dyno tomorrow.

The tune at wot isn't too bad, but as it's my daily driver I need the low speed stuff and idle sorted. I want it to run like it did out of the factory... Haha Yeah right!

I'm pretty keen to see what it puts out tomorow as well. There have been a few little changes since it made 275hp and it's definately running quicker, even before the diff gear change.

I'll retract my statement about tune at WOT not being so bad. It's rich as f**k. It was below 10:1 and no idea how far below as it can only read to 10. It made 263hp. Now I have to get the tune sorted. Full aftermarket, here I come. Just need to make a decision as to what to get. Motec or Autronic I think are the ones I'll be choosing between. That'll be the last of the money spent on the car for a while I think. It's all getting way too expensive.

The other thing I noticed this evening when I was reversing into my driveway, some pretty loud clicking and grinding sounds coming from the diff. There was a little bit of clicking when I got it back from being rebuilt but assumed it was meant to be like that. Now it's much louder and doesn't sound like it's meant to be like that. I'll be giving them a call on Moday and hopefully they'll be able to have a look at it.

Get the Tweecer looked at, it can be sorted. For the money spent so far its alright. Also maybe get an adjustable FPR, see if you can lean it out that way as an option. I feel that the car as it sits now has a lot more potential, yet hasnt been realised due to other issues. Truly when you get the tune sorted you will be very happy

Mate, there's only 2 people who have the Strategy required to do anything with my tweecer. One of them doesn't do any tuning due to lack of time and the other won't be getting another brass-razoo out of me ever again. So, as far as the tweecer is concerned, I'm pretty well f**k!

Bad luck mate with it running rich, seeing it made 263 there is alot more in it considering how rich it is and getting it back up to 12.8 will see it ideal.

Fair enough. Sorry to hear that. Good luck with it, i recommend the EMS 8860 Sequential model, but its up to you. I can offer help in regards to any issues with the install as i feel mine has encountered most of them and they have been overcome

Thanks Brett. The new mechanic I'll be getting to do any further work is pretty keen on seeing me go with the Motec. He's got a guy that does all of his tuning and he's meant to be a gun on the Motec. He's not one to recommend anyone unless he's 100% sure about them. He's told me he's got no problems with me going to whoever to get whatever fitted, but if it goes pear-shaped there won't be too much he can do about it. I don't know any tuners over here for the EMS 8860. I've been told they're very compatible with our cars, but no-one can recommend anyone. The only place I've heard of who do them here, I haven't heard many good things...

I think I'll spend the extra dough and go the Motec in the end.

Not too much to report except that I've got my hands on another eec. This is out of a manual el xr8 as opposed to the auto eec that's been in my car for a while now. It is compatible with the tweecer, as it is running better than it was with the auto one in it. I think it's still running pretty fat though. As soon as I am able to get hold of the tuner I'm going to be using, I'll be booking my car in for the Motec M400. I think this will allow for much more flexibility in the tune.

PM sent!!

Good to hear the ECU worked better than what was in it.
The motec should do wonders for it mate. Cant wait to see how it turns out, both in peak power/torque and also driveablilty and cold start etc.
May i ask who will be doing the tuning of the Motec?

Jeff

A bloke named Glen Baker. His business is called Auto Sport Electronics. He's been highly recommended by a couple of people, Dim being one of them and he generally won't recommend anyone to do anything.

One of my mates has been working on his mate's dirt drag bike (350 chev) which Glen's done a lot of work on as well. They tell me he's meticulous and there's not been an issue he hasn't been able to sort out straight away, whether he's there with them or in another state.

I'm pretty confident I'm going to get a good job out of it. I'm not looking for any unrealistic figures. Just an improvement in drivability and maybe a little more than I've got so far, now that the throttle body opens 100%.

Ya haven't had another power run since the TB butterfly problem yet aye Scaffy? I'm interested to see how much more you get. I got an extra 32.8hp at wheels when mine was sorted. hehehe.
