Yeah you gotta hate that, get out of the hole nicely with god work of the clutch, clutch is fully released, hit some decent RPM and it lights the rears. Every single run dow there i have spun up in 1st, im hoping the Hoosiers will help that. Thats if they are not as hard as a rock by the time i put them to use  .

It sounds like you need some better rubber as well Chad!

Keep the tyres soft Jeff by putting them in garbage bags and storing them off the concrete in a nice cool corner of that massive garage of yours... ;) When are you going to get that ute down the strip again mate?

Yeah, I've been thinking about the new rubber. Will have to find me some rims to throw it on first though.

I was thinking of getting a couple of 16" stockies to throw on the back. Dave, what are the hoosiers worth?

I was thinking of throwing some track tyrs on the 18s, but there was a bloke down there with Toyo semis on 18s and they weren't doing him any good at all.

I thought I'd dig this puppy up once again. Nothing at all has been going on due to being away for work, but I purchased another WB o2 kit to throw into the passenger side header and purchased a g-tech pro rr (I think that's the model). Hopefully it will all be there tomorrow for when I get home after a long, long month on this god-forsaken boat.

I'll be looking at heading down to the strip either this Wed or the next one. Might look at getting some tyres for then as well.

Still unused? I would have thought you would've used them yourself by now. Is the 'box in yet?

Nice. Well, I'll ty and give you a call today sometime about those tyres.

I see there's a Ford v Holden day this Saturday at the Motorplex. I'm thinking about having a crack at that.

I went down to the Ford v Holden day at the Motorplex yesterday with the Hoosiers. Here's how I went...

My first practice run of the night saw a 13.9@100mph due to flailing around, trying to find 3rd.

My second practice saw a PB of 13.37@104mph with a 1.9 60'

After that run, I dialled in at 13.27, thinking I won't get there. I ended up running a 13.257@104.9mph with a 1.855 60'. In hindsight, I should have backed off as I had a fair bit of space between me and my opponent as I nailed the reaction as well. .046 to his .168

I had one more run for the night. I ran a 13.225@105.1mph with a 1.90 60'. I'm stoked with these times and I look forward to trying to get down for another DYO comp some time. The sticky tyres make all the difference, as the launch is usually my most inconsistent part of my runs with wheelspin, etc.

It was good to see quite a few tough Fords down there, eating up the Holdens.

One day there'll be more squeezing, but for now, I'm happy to leave it as it is.

There may be a flat 13 in it with a bit of fine tuning on a Wednesday night, but I can't see me getting there before the end of season.

The tyres make a whole world of difference.

Well, tonight is it for this season of drags. I went down, as tonight is my last opportunity due to work. It wasn't looking all that good for me up until the burnouts. I was getting a bit of wheelspin so I got my hands on a pressure gauge and dropped 3psi, down to 23psi. It made the difference I needed. From then on I ran a 13.338@104.65, 13.29@104.89, 13.155@105.38 with 1.936 60', 13.22@105.14 and 13.297@104.89.

I think she'll be loving the next 6 months safe from the track and the T5 has survived yet another season of abuse. I'll be looking at a brake upgrade now as all those runs were in quick succession and the last couple of runs were a bit shaky in braking.
