Yeah labour is the real killer hey.

I'm guessing clutch kit is about $500, flywheel $380, Ignition $600 and fitting of fuel pump and shifter $200?

This reminds me i have to do full price itemising in my build thread to give people an idea.

Got the fuel pump today. $150 delivered to the door. Pretty sweet.

I didn't end up getting BPT to order the shifter from the states which may end up being a kick in the nuts for me cos it looks like Billet may not have any ready by the time I need them. :?

Just waiting on an alternator from Waggin, which I'll hopefully get this week coming.

So, if the shifter from Billet isn't available, I'm not too sure what to do. Get BPT to order one, or wait for the Billet product and then have to pay for the fitting. Actually, does the gearbox need to be dropped to fit them or can it all be done from the top?

what shifter were you looking at in the states? yeah gota lower the box a bit, axel stand under it and undo crossmember bolts a bit, prety easy to do. was looking on the us ebay the other day and there was plenty of steeda shifters on there. if ya dont mind me asking where did you get your top end kit? i was looking at the same kit the other day but in the u.s. any chance ya might let it slip as to what it set ya back?

Yeah mate, got it from Summit... US$2500

As for the shifter, I'm not sure of the brand BPT get. It was blue if that helps.

The shifter is very easy to install be yourself. Just put car up on axle stands, support gearbox with jack, loosen trans crossmember bolts, and slightly lower trans, enough to get at the four allen key bolts holding shifter on. Remove and replace shifter, raise trans and tighten crossmember bolts. Then you can set the stops from inside the car.

thanks for that mate. prob best of geting a shifter here in aus anyway, easyer to get a replacement if it breaks. any idea what sort of power you will make with that head and intake combo? i was looking at the same kit and with the way the aus and u.s. dollars are at the moment its geting very tempting to move my project 12 months forward.

We'll see in 2 weeks about the power.. I hope for around the 260-270hp mark or thereabouts... hopefully have decent torque as well

I would think you'd make more power than that, at least 280-290rwhp IMO.

I do hope so, but don't want to go getting my hopes too high.

Yeah, it's always been the 29th. When I booked it in, I gave plenty of time for the gear to get over here. I didn't expect it to come so quick. It's given me time to organise the other bits and pieces.
