Yep, only learnt on the weekend that Wolf had sorted their v500 to return all the Ford ECU functions and features when running the v500 as stand alone and being able to adjust the transmission on the fly with the laptop is very cool.

It's been a bit slow since last month but finally the harness and wiring has begun for the installation of the Wolf as the standalone ECU and to control the transmission. I get to say bye bye to both of the Ford computers and say hello to full trans control.

Wolf made it. My car is the guinea pig for the release and update of the v500's full Ford V8 emulation ability. I'm itching for the day my car hits the dyno and is released back to me.

Stuffed S1 solenoid removed and replaced.
I now have 4 gears again. Next: some dyno tuning of the BTR..

How much did it cost u to balance the rotating assembly and how much extra mallory was used???
Any reason why u went with scat over eagle???

I'm really good at filing receipts.. so good that I can't find them.
But going on memory the stroker kit was about $2,500 and the block work was maybe $2,000 or so. I have a higher opinion of Scat than I do of Eagle but that's a purely personal belief after some research as well as some testimonials from other performance engine builders' that I respect. Besides the price wasn't too bad at the time.

I found that scat have better quality finish than eagle and apparently tollarence is better with scat gear.

A quick update; I stopped by the workshop today and found the car has been and remains on the dyno while the transmission gets programmed. I watched the tuner work on the laptop for a little while and bugger me there's a lot to do when the data has to be created from scratch. Glad I'm not the one stuck with the job of programming 7 solenoids and all the fiddly s**t required for the transmission to work properly.
However I did enjoy hearing the engine growl through the gears on the dyno. I miss my car.

Thanks mate.
The last time I spoke with the Wolf engineer about how I wanted the gears to shift for different occasions, he said he'd just program the trans to shift hard and fast when it detects WOT or if the throttle position is set to a certain percentage, i.e: 80%.

It's a massive job to program the trans and once its fully tuned u will be back for more find tuning but its good that the eu can detect it WOT to shift harder.
All we need is some high quality video's

Dropped by the workshop yesterday and was told that most of the transmission tuning has been completed and was very successful. Apparently the transmission is doing very well on the road, even chirps on the dyno - they leave the soft shifting tuning for last. As of last night, the car was moved back to Wolf HQ for some further tweaking of the software as well as having the missing Ford features reactivated; trip computer etc etc..
I guess with my car being the prototype for the transmission tuning for e-series, they are being quite thorough. Tell you what, my bike gets garaged as soon as I get my car back... can't wait to hit the road with it.
