As of last week, all of the dash cluster gauges, sensors, features, a/c etc, are functioning as per the original ECU. The only one they decided to skip for the time being was the trip computer. The reason being that the table of data that makes up the trip computer estimations was going to take a long time to generate to suit my current injectors ( 24lb ) and of course this means that with all the different injectors out there that any of us may use in our engine setups, that data table has to be created for each type of injector which would be many many many hours to create. Other than that, they are currently just fine tuning S3 & S4 for the soft shifting and then the car goes for the road test.

Have you thought about modifying an EB/D Series Trip Computer to go in? - They dont get any engine data, and instead just measure the pulse width. Yeah it wont be accurate, but it will give you a reasonable ball-park

Can't say as I'm aware of that trip computer's differences. While I would use a trip computer once in a while, it's not a high priority. The climate control and certainly all of the dash instruments are vital to me and Wolf have thoroughly sorted those out - they all work exactly as they should.
I admit that it's kind of odd to see the original Ford ECU and ATC just sitting on the floor of the backseat doing nothing but gathering dust and seeing the v500 plugged in at the kick panel doing all the work.

The EF/L trip computer requires the data from the ECU. The EB one gets it directly from the source (pwm from injectors, Fuel from tank, speed from VSS)
So will work even without the EECV Nigel |

Yep, Robbie has performed more mods and tuning adjustments on the trans since my last update.
I remember him saying a while ago that of all the transmission tuning Wolf have done for all sorts of brands and models, the BTR is the toughest one to generate programming for due to the complexity of Ford's original coding and the fact that they had to start from scratch. This week he told me that he is now exceedingly happy with the resulting trans tune, both on the dyno and on the road, and will be doing a final dyno tune tomorrow as he has been remapping the throttle position table to a more linear Ford style table. This is so that it's even easier and simpler for anyone else to tune a BTR in the future. Apparently he has some keen agents in other states who have customers waiting on the finished product too. Anyway if I'm lucky, he wants me to go roadtesting with him perhaps on Saturday. He said if I am satisfied with the performance of the trans then I get to take my car back.

Well, I gotta say the new trans programming is pretty damn impressive. Wolf have done a fantastic job in tuning the transmission and it's a whole new experience in driving. I was so used to the original trans slipping under load and having to put up with it for so long that this programming feels like a revelation. Any gear, any speed, any rpm, any throttle position and the transmission shifts quickly, firmly and without any jolt whatsoever. I've not driven a B-series or newer model so can't make a comparison but this is just plainly superior to the original. At some stage when I have time, it's going to Heathcote.

Awesome, nice to see someone actually persist and finally succeed. I should probably unsubcribe from this thread now... I've spent enough money on my V8 already.

Lol. Too depressing to think about the money involved huh? I don't blame you. This engine upgrade drama of mine has been the the bane of my waking existence for a long long time. Now I finally get to enjoy it.
I have had to get used to a few things since the engine and trans have been sorted; [*]The speed limits are just not fast enough for me. [*]The way it sucks down fuel with any of my "spirited" driving. [*]the eTag launching out of its windscreen holder everytime I plant the pedal - it just doesn't deal with the vibration of the rears being lit up. Amusing and annoying at the same time.
