The 3lt V6 (as found in the capri) was a semi factory job done on ambulances and such
I went with the 200Ci as the largest factory motor in the MK1 transits (here) is a 200Ci. I am planning on reversing the sub frame (so it passes in front of the sump instead of behind) as i am moving the engine back to fit the flat nose panel.

Went on an adventure today, i picked up 2 LWB MK2 transits from kilmore, the one with the dually wheels will be tidied up (change gearbox and axle, sort out some rust) and sold, while the single axle one is going to get a camper fit out as the plan for our honeymoon is to go on a driving holiday around Australia.
The one i am keeping was a good find as it is the "kombi" model it has 4 piston front calipers, a sane diff ratio of 3.9:1 (BW78 - yay) and factory front and rear swaybars. and as far as i can tell minimal rust. and is fitted with captains seats. Attachment: DSC_0485 - Copy.jpg

The dual wheel MK2 van ended up having had an accident and one of the front spring hangers sheared off the chassis and has been badly welded back on, and both front spring mounts had been badly plated so i raided it for parts for the other one and sold it as a roller.
The "kombi" MK2 van has had some rust repairs done to the passengers side outrigger, and will require both front guards to come off to sort out the A pillars (yay for welded on structural guards), and has already found a new owner once the repairs are completed (i decided i cant afford any more cars and have enough projects already) which saddens me as this is a really well loaded van in great condition. Attachment: DSC_0503.jpg I found some time to get the other side of the cab extension welded up, and the roof welded. As expected it was a disaster, wobbly as hell, but with the gas torch and some water as well as a lot af mashing with the rubber mallet i have got it almost back into shape, and will probably only need 3 or so liters of body filler up there. i was hoping to get primmer on before winter but still time yet i have most of the pannels for collection at the transit mania show new steps, step sills i already have upper and lower sills lower sills for the rear i also have another mrk2 chassis cab in a friends breakers yard which am cutting up for parts and panel's
the thing i carnt get is the whole front end and not to sure which on it should have |
