No worries mate, anything I can do to help.
I hear it was cooking down there the last few weeks. A mate just got back from Mexico (Moe, Victoria) and said it hit 44 one day and everyone was melting away having a fit.. Good to see some solid progress! You'll be doing donuts in no time!! I was looking at mine yesterday and noticed I ALMOST stuffed up.. I haven't put in the timing tensioner yet... But you have inspired me into doing something on mine today... plus its bludgment day... ...Off to get some O rings. Any progress pics? And some of the port matching too when that's done.. Are you doing the serpentine belt conversion too? I might have an XH tensioner...

It was 40+ in the shed on the day I put my gearbox back in when I did my original EL engine conversion....
Snaking under a car with a T5 on your guts, pouring sweat with a puddle underneath mixing with the dirt and making mud.... The best memories of working in cars.... I'm used to working in the heat in the territory, but down south it's nasty..35 feels like 50 and the sunburn is instant!! And $86 for a new tensioner is pretty good..

From what I understamd the bottom leg and pulley has a slight curve in it over the straight one that goes in the el.... will do a bit more research before I buy but thats what I understand atm |

Noice pics maate!
Nice tonner too. With the tensioner there it kicks down more if a dogleg on the XH one to let the belt clear the A/C and throttle body.. It will be the one WITH XH in the description.

So ive done some more research and the top arm on the xh tensioner is set at a slightly different angle (contrary to what the other bit said about the other research.....) to make sure the idler pulley and bracket clears the ac pump,.the a/c can be spaced out to offset the use of a el tensiner but apparently its easier to just get the xh setup.... you can also modify the el tensioner to fit the setup but the bit I was reading doesnt specify what to modify and apparently is rather long and drawn out compraed to a little extra cash to buy the xh. .. I hope some of this helps, ill be getting the xh tensioner I posted next week so will see how I go as to whether it fits properly or not, if either of you find out first would you let me know please

My mates play with these things all the time and had a pic of the xh next to the el, the xh is on the left and el on the right....
