Yeah that's the ones!

It lets the belt drop straight down to the air con more instead of kicking out.

On an EL engine the AC compressor is almost smack bang there the log manifold throttle is..

Ebay has no xh ones only the xr6, the xr6 runs a bbm anyway so it doesn't have the problem, I rang the wreclers amd they are $95 pick up, went to autopro and theyre $200 (trade price would be less) so expect a decent bill for one over $86 delivered off ebay for the wrong setup....

Stripped the new engine down today and theres still clear hone marks in the bore so definitely is a fresh motor which is apparently no more than 100,000 ago.... also got the welch plugs, new timing chain guides and all of the bits for serpentine conversion minus the trans which still has to come out yet.....

Basically I am running the complete ef block (had coils not dizzy) all brackets and accessories (power steering, a/c, water pump, alternator) with eb head and xh tensioner and a set of thermos because I hadn't done them yet... all running through an el computer and T.I perfomance J3 dyno tuned in adelaide to suit the setup.... and im only doing the guides cos I snapped the top one when pulling the head off so once I found out they were only $20 for both I thought id throw them in.....

Sounds like its coming along nicely there..

It will be like a XH engine setup when you're done.. I like the look of the log manifold with the serpentine setup.

I have pulled down 3 engines and snapped the same chain guide on all but 1.. And that was because I really REALLY tried not to. lol. They get brittle and crack over time.

I was s**t myself putting the head back on too..

Best part though, you have a J3 chip.. Oh the Possibilities!

Who did you get that through?

Its getting there pretty quick atm, just money and time going everywhere else atm.... all good, got today and tomorrow off (even being 40 and 44 degrees should get something done...) will be exactly a xh setup when I get it all done :) when I did the head on the series 1 motor at 140k was the only time I didnt snap it, will be getting someone to help me put the head back on when I get to it.... dont fell like wasting all work to get it there and strip it again!! Im running the TI performance chip, a couple of my mates have them and seem to love them.. also the guy im getting to dyno tune it has worked with them before so it selaed the deal on getting one...

Lol by the time you jumped on here I had already changed the air box in my ute and was taking the dent out of the sump.... that alternator bracket came off straight after I took the photo, the only thing I missed was a coupke spots I got this morning cos the engine was upside down and didnt see it from where I was.... as of now the engines been fully cleaned, gaskets removed, new ones put in with water pump sump and timing cover.... the timing covers coming back off F**k F**k F**k!!!!!! did the timing wrong so try a bloddy gain...... but atm this is the way the engine sits and shoupd be a long motor next weekend :)
