Don't wanna be a party pooper but, a pod that sits in the engine bay like that will get little or no cold air thats why people tend to box them to supply them with cooler air and to make them legal (pods not legal in NSW if not boxed or seperated from the rest of the bay) But hey it does look good!

Alright fella's I have just spent the last two ours trying to source a high flow snorkel so I can position it under my bumper where that 2ft wide slot is. I have stumbled across the SS inductions growler OTR intake kit and I am going where no man has gone before. I am going to put a 3 inch pipe from the throttle body, down behind the front left headlight where dsyfer had his, and connect it up to the kit that will hopefully sit perfectly or close enough into that slot. I will make the kit rigid to the chassis and put grille mesh over the slot so no nasty things go into the kit and wear out the twin pod filter set up faster. If I have to I am going to fiberglass the kit to the bumper where necessary to make it legitimate. I am really looking forward to this upgrade and I will do a full run through as I do it. Another thing is, I was going to purchase a MSD 6A pack however when telling my father, turns out my parents had one installed in there ZJ Fairlane with a tach adapt and he said I could have it! so I am going to climb into the engine bay within the next couple of days to get it and install it into the Fairlane with my new coil
Cannot wait,

I know that where my Pod filter is, doesn't receive cold air, but doesn't worry me too much. i have "restored" this old yet classic girl to as close as new condition i could (body & interior wise) with the money i had (which isn't alot btw!) lol...
i was gunna go all out with dropping in a V8, then went to the 6 cyl turbo/supercharged idea. But now i really cannot be bothered pouring another $7000+, rebuilding the engine again!! Once was enough! My main goal for the NC LANE was for looks. But until i save up a bit & either buy a ZH FAIRLANE 351 V8, C4 AUTO, 9INCH or another NC FAIRLANE, 302 V8 & possibly STROKE to 393! |

always nice to see another teenager liking the old lanes
they are coming along nice a idea might be to fit a EF EL BBM and use a BA GT or XR8 Intake (i got mine from FTG) up to you if you want to use the EF EL Box or the BA one they are very similar fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/fitting-a-ef-el-bbm-to-your-ea-ed-how-to-t95181.html?hilit=EL%20BBM i have the BA GT intake and its great made great throttle response for my NF and is making a very slight fuel econ increase always a good thing to see the BA XR8/GT Intakes Are Very Massive In Comparison To Stock And Mine Presses On My Thermos No Real Hard Plastic Braking Pressure But Its Something Else To Remember

How much did you pick your BBM up for? and is the wiring loom different from the NC? Because I know you have to change the ecu? Cheers

Quick update fella's,
1. The fairlady is getting assessed next Friday so hopefully she will be fixed by April 2. I have stumbled across this magnificant piece of engineering and I am going to purchase it with the next couple of days, i have been thinking about this for a while and I have found my match, have a look http://www.knfilters.com/search/product ... =RC-5052AR 3. I am buying new ball joints and bushes tomorrow and this weekend I hopefully will be able to install them with my sports ryder suspension out of the old fairlane All is going well, I have actually written down everything I am going to do to the car, in order and the suspension was first, so atleast I am keeping on with it . One last thing, I really wanted to upholster the interior but I wasn't going to fork out $4000 for some vinyl, so I have justified a solution. Do it myself I have found the off-white colour in LEATHER! I want in a 4x6 metre hide for roughly $360 (from wholesalers) and I will be doing the seats, door trims, roof lining, centre console lid, parcel shelf and visors. I will colour match the leather and spray the dash, console and trimming. This will be happening in june when I have my mid-year break. Cannot wait to get the new parts tomorrow Aaron Out.

Cheers my NF came with a EF EL BBM but i did see one on ebay sell for $20 was complete with throttle body fuel injecotrs etc cold air intake did cost a bit considering its plastic but the power increase and fuel economy increase is great it will pay for its self in no time just send the guys at FTG a message they can fix ya up
