The things you do for your loved one! lol.

Here the story goes. Bought the Fairlane about 12 months ago and ever since then Ive learnt alot and spent alot of money on it getting it to where it is.

Found out last week that the missus is pregnant again ( thats my 2nd and im only 20!!). She has a little Daihatsu Terios but that just wasnt going to cut it, she couldnt drive the Fairlane so the only choice was to let the Lane go :(

Funny enough at the same time my mate was looking at getting rid of his close to original EF XR6 with new tyres, 277 on the clock, EL wheels. After some back and forwards phone calls, and umming and arrring the deal was done. Straight swap for the Lane and the missus is rapped with it. I was reluctant to start with but after driving home its not all that bad!

Going to mod it a little but its just the daily kiddie hauler so not going to go overboard.

Cheers, Justin

I think the big factor was its rather low and long. Most of her daily driving is in shopping centre carparks and she wanted somthing not so low and long. Sometimes you gota do right by the missus to keep them on side. lol.

Not sure about mods yet, maybe nice set of 18s or 19s and a touch up here and there where required. Also would anyone know how I can get my side moulds looking like new again?? Other than that I dont reckon it needs to much playing with.

Yeah going to do the strips and detail it over the weekend. The Fairlanes close to a wagon wheelbase wise and sitting on custom superlow springs didnt help, looks good but not practical for the missus. Also anyone wouldnt happen to know where I can get some clear side repeaters??

clear side repeaters can come off a fairlane/ltd but you need the moulds

Well good news I have got the Fairlane back with everything that was wrong with it replaced with brand new parts. Within the first day the harmonic balancer let go but anyway all fixed now. Will post pics of it later.

Anyway this is a little project I get into every year. Albion Park holds an annual show and part of it is a Demolition Derby, thought Id share it with you guys and see what you think.

P.S. LWB lovers dont get upset.

It started its life as a EA wagon with just shy of 200k on the clock. With a NC Fairlane front shes something different. Enjoy

Defos will post the after pics, im hoping for absolute carnage. All wiring, mains hoses, lines, ECU, battery, fuel tank has been relocated into the centre of the car. And the LWB front should give a bit more push.

The idea seems reasonable at first but when your in the ring with 30 other vehicles, doesnt go to plan! lol.

Its on this Saturday night (15th). Entry is $15 odd bucks an adult. It all generally gets under way from 4 but the Derby and Fireworks dont get run until 9ish.
