so annnnyway, going by the topic of stuff going wrong with my car.....

we broke a rocker arm putting the cam in  one of the lifters was a bit C**k-eyed when we turned the engine by hand after the rocker gear was bolted down, and the valve hit the piston and pushed the lifter outwards, cracking the rocker arm.... lucky it did that and not bend the valve..... wouldve been the last thing i needed to take the head off to replace a valve, lol.

the back end started skipping out in 2nd in the dry when i hit 3000rpm.... that was a bit scary  lol

update fo shizz

had the EL at the mechanics the other week, getting new rotors, ball joints, wishbone bushes and a general fluids change. farrrk man you shouldve seen the old ball joints  and i was told the old wishbone bushes were that bad that ive been lucky they havent fallen out  but drives so much better now theyve been replaced.

but.... they came up with a nice list for me:

NOTE:
- rear brakes next service
- tailpipe melting bumper
- muffler has large dents
- rattle in cat convertor
- gearbox exhaust mount broken (ie. there isnt one)
- diff filler plug cross threaded
- clutch fork boot missing
- front wheel bearing washers missing ( WTF??? )
-handbrake needs replacing
- rear main oil seal leaking
- front main oil seal leaking
- power steering hose leak

f**k..... ive let the old girl go a bit  time to spend more money i dont have :?

oh and i also need a new drivers window reg.... and im NOT paying $275 for a new one  anyone got one for a better price than that?

Well, its been a while since ive been on this thread......

I sold the Ghia around November 2010, got $3,000 for it.

The new owner really, really didnt treat it that well, within a couple months the clutch was rooted, seats were destroyed, my new roof lining was sagging, steering wheel was rooted, etc etc.

Then a mate of mine bought it with intention to revive it, but after a thorough look over it was decided that it was too far gone, so it was stripped :( that was a sad moment, a lot of blood, sweat, hours and money went into that car, and lots of good memories were made too.

But, these things do happen i spose.

I got my 5.0 Wagon back, so Im keeping that now for a while longer, i just cant seem to get rid of it for too long

So yeah, I guess that ends it for this build thread.
Thanks for all your advice and compliments etc etc, and I'll see you guys in the other threads!
