finished fitting up the new pedalbox today.

this is the outer reinforcing plate. yes its bolted on, but those bolts wont be breaking/coming loose anytime soon.

Image

this is a small inner reinforcing plate, and an extension that goes on the clutch pin thread. the aim here is to put a piece of metal cut to size inbetween the 2 shafts, then u-bolt it on, providing more resistance to twisting forces.
Image

and there we have a modified auto pedalbox ready to go in.
Image

...well, almost. i still have to cut the brake pedal to size, but that can wait till later, lol.

a HUGE thankyou goes to Greenmachine for supplying the clutch pedal, Mal Wood clutch pin, and reinforcing plates.

fitted the 6TAC ECU i received in the mail today... and i must say, it makes a MASSIVE difference to fuel consumption and power ( i took it for a blat on the highway with no clutch :P ) and it idles a s**t better too.... although i think the ISC needs cleaning because every now and then it will falter and drop in the revs for a couple of seconds...

also gave me a chance to try the shortened shift lever, works very nicely (thanks to Greenmachine for the shifter)

its also developed a slight misfire when cold, seems to be connected with the faltering idle... i'll get to that one day... but does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this?

cant wait till the weekend when the new pedal box goes in :D :D :D

also a thankyou goes to Tezza393 for supplying the ECU. :)

{DESCRIPTION}

snippets of a video i took last night.

1) yes theres no cluster backlighting - its an NL cluster, and i havent soldered the loom in yet, which also explains the door sensors flashing off their tits.

2) about 10 seconds from the end is me doing a 0-100. its on a 110 speed limit highway, out of town and there were no cars around for miles. judging by the digital speedo, i think its just under 8 seconds to 100, and thats with way too much wheelspin in 1st.

3) that vibrating noise at the start is my exhaust hitting something under the chassis, not the floor pan, i think a suspension component.

thought id put up a bit of an update.

finally got myself some chrome handles (thanks dcstraight :) ) so now ive got the handles that should have been on my car when i got it (had grey ones when i bought it  ) now i just need to get off my a** and install them... lol

ive kinda let the interior go a bit... the rooflining is really shagged, the base of the drivers seat would lift straight out if i tried, i now have 2 snapped woodgrain spears..... my carpet has grease stains on it

and i still havent wired up the NL cluster properly

ive been playing around with exhausts too. fitted a full stock one (tractor manifold, working cat, 3 mufflers) for a while, then got sick of it being quiet so i whacked the X-Force one back on, just the catback though, and i have to say its the best sounding exhaust note so far on my car. (ive had a bout 10 different ones now  ) has a mean crackle

hmmm.... got the accident damage fixed, and the rear bar resprayed. and i buffed the roof also, its almost all one shade of blue now

thats about it for now. until i can think of something more lol

so yeah, one new clutch kit later, and im home safe and sound lol.

basically, for some reason, the 4 top bellhousing bolts were missing  and the bending od the bellhousing and box cos of that basically destroyed the spigot bearing which distributed itself throughout my clutch and flywheel.

by the way, id also like to thank MadMatt for transporting my car with his car trailer, and Mick and his dad for coming round and helping myself and Simon with the install of my gearbox, and id like to thank Simon once again for accommodating me for the extra time, and taking the time to help do my clutch and get me out of trouble. Id probably still be stuck in adelaide if you guys hadnt been there to help :) i think i owe you guys a beer...or two... or five. lol
