Hi guys
I just picked up a Ef II fairmont of an old bloke for 2 grand fair happy with it. Its in fair good nic inside and out but front passenger side needs some love were he bumped into something. it has 215k on the clock so not bad for its age. runs smooth but need's new shockies really bad so will do them first. if you guys have any idea's ( that are not going to cost me my house ) let me know. Thanks You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. Last edited by wtbdlltd on Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:33 am, edited 1 time in total. |

If you are going to replace Shocks anyway, I would be looking at a set of lowered springs as well. BTW, you CAN fit AU XR type shocks and springs to the front, they seem to offer a more sure footed ride. Just remember to flatten the bracket on the side of the front shock so as not to foul anything.

Well a nice exhaust is always good, but not too loud and bogany, it is a Straight 6 afterall.
Then I suppose you might want to fit a larger air intake (good cheap mod) and aftermarket extractors and cat. If you get twin exhaust tips like mine, be vigilant. Make sure the d**k doesn't fit them crooked. {DESCRIPTION}

Haha, cheers, glad you like it.
I opted for the rear resinator. So nice grumble at idle then it just picks up from there as your foot drops. Have fun.

Thanks I found that the hole for the bonnet release cable worked quite well, then down through the kick panel, along the sides of the doors and through a gap behind the seats into the boot The hole is located on the drivers side, up the top of the engine bay, cant miss it

Hey bud, seems like a pretty clean Fairmont you got there. Apart from the battle scars on the passenger front, it looks to be a fairly straight car.
Have a look through the Garage section of the forum, there are many EF/EL builds in there which will be sure to give you many ideas. As for your amp power cable, another option is to run it through the hole in the firewall to the right side of the brake booster. This hole is for the clutch cable on 5-speed manual equipped models, but since your's is automatic, this hole is pretty much free to use |

thanks guys
i used the hole near brake booster just poked the amp cable in and it fell next to the brake pedal. Took about 10mins to do the rest. I had a vt commie b4 this car and man these fords are so much easier to do stuff to. the vt i needed star head keys and all just to get the carpet up. Thanks |

Those are two mods I wanted to do. I did do the first one, easy as and really improves the look of the rear. I never did go for, and will not, the EL grill up front. I prefer the streamline, simple, classy EF Fairmont one. What do you think of Lane/LTD cornering lamps. Only really good for a wank as they are all looks. Unless ofcourse you wire them up the way they came from the factory (I opted not to). You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
