Hey guys
i bought a El for $500 a few weeks ago got board of it so today i swaped it for this NCII V8 Fairlane. on gas with Tags till 2017, Gene Extractors but stock from there on. King springs all round had stockies but changed my El rims over with the deal. 221,000km starts and runs fine on Gas and fuel and its LSD. really happy so far. Mods to come will be EF/El interior new steering wheel, and a few little engine mods. and EF thermo fans here some pics You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. well filled the tank and took it for a run, said was running 19.7l/100km on gas so guess that is ok.
and i was not being that nice to it. found that if i push the pedal into the carpet it wont rev past 4000rpm and has not guts after 3k, would that be the gas or is there a issue somewere. its got heaps of low down power really love it but nothing up top. also front struts are noisy, Will EF struts fit in the front as my mate said i can have his set on basicaly brand new ones? also can i please have some help with doing a EF dash conversion. like just some tips before i start pulling everything apart |

Needs NC factory alloys, NL ones look ok though.
Fail at wanting EF dash in it. NC is much nicer. Ef shocks are the same, same throughout E series. Trip computer doesn't show gas usage, its impossible. It just gets confused and throws up figures. Get the gas tuned, or better still rip it out. Don't push it until then, probably running lean and it will damage something in the motor if it is. Cheap gas gear can have trouble keeping up with the 5L, what system is it? Nice pick up, much better than an EL IMO. Pretty good for effectively $500! |

I have no idea about their stuff, can't help you there sorry!
I'd be running it on petrol or babying it on the gas until its sorted, in case it leans out. Looks like a nice car, whats the colour? How does it compare to the EL? I've been thinking of getting an NC for something to muck around with, never had one. Always loved the 5L Fairlanes, something about them! |

the el felt like a newer car( it is i guess ). but the fairlane has a much better driving posi, can sit in it for hrs and have no back aches or anything.
have no cash for petrol atm so just been keeping it under 3k. i stuck a torch in the intake chamber and it is so clean its not funny would expect a car with 220+ kms to be full of oil. its not heating up at all staying just above the cold line. sounds great pulls hard even when not giving it any s**t. not sure what the colour is but i really like it. clear is gone on the roof tho. gave it a coat of clear before and it is better but will need a respray down the track. lsd needs checking if i turn right it peels up the inside wheel even on light throttle but if i turn left it kicks the a** end out. might need to be tightened. all in all for technically $500 pretty chuffed love driving it |

Put in Ef thermo fans the other day, also a DC LTD grill,
little pain to do both jobs but happy with results Also chucked on a AUIII XR8 intake snorkel You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

Ok doing the EF Dash conversion.
Got myself a NF Fairlane Ghia full interior, so far have stripped the old interior, put in NF floor loom, door looms, now working on engine loom and EF ECU, unfortunalty the ECU loom has been cut so i have 103 wires to solder on. still need alot of tinkering as looks like alot of stuff on the engine is different like the coil pack and few sensors, will have to work with it. Also have a dual airbag skin so will swap that over when i get around to it. Also thinking i might have to swap ignition barrel as does not like the NC one will plug anywhere onto the NF loom You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. |

Thermos wernt to hard just had to run relays to switches as i did not have them come on automatically.
but since i have now changed the loom to a EF one the thermos just plug in and is controlled by the ECU |
