Hey all, Cars goin good now all problems nealy out of the way. Hooked haltech boost controller up on friday night, wound her up to 13psi and tidy'd the maps up a bit more, my mate bought one of thoses AFR wide band tuning gagets it helped and so much smoother maps now.

Raced it at the Charters Towers Drag Clubs 1/8 mile race meet the next day and loved it.
Hopping to get the car on a dyno this week just to get a power figure to see the improvement we've got as we have only road tuned it.

Then hopping to take it out the Townsville 1/4 mile this weekend to see what it doese down the strip now, lets hope i don't break this box just yet though  .

Bit of a late update we got the car up on the dyno on a friday arvo. First run it made 145rwkw :? , thought we put wrong figures into dyno or some thing. Second run made 150 and we got up to 175 after 5 runs car wasn't breakin down had good fuel.

Then on the saturday night took it down the 1/4 mile in townsville to see if we could prove that it had more than the dyno said, other wise i've lost 50kw  . Well made best run straight of the bat 13.2 @ 107MPH :D . Run 13.5's for the next three runs, then the clutch started sliping.
Got me thinkin full load in 4th from low rpm could have been lettin it down, then i remember'd the clutch did stink a bit when i drove it off the dyno but i didn't think much of it as i rode it a bit getin it off.

Hey all havn't been on here in a while I'll just update on the progress so far, last time we couldn't get a good reading on the dyno because the clutch was slipping.

So new clutch was ordered, I was told that for the power I had I could still stay organic up to about 320rwkw or so the bloke that built my clutch reckoned anyway, so we got a 10.5" clutch and alloy flywheel on the way. Went to fit clutch and dumb me didn't check the bolts before we went to fit it (they were to long) so we chewed out the bell housing a little (oops) fixed that and was off and goin.

The car was so much more responsive now and did it pull in 2nd and 3rd now yee haa. But as my luck or lack of it should I say, didn't even make it to the strip before the clutch started slippen was I ropeable!!!!!!!. .

So took it in to my mechanic and he said the car had over powered it....., so back to the shop I went and the clutch was sent away to be inspected by the builder.

Ok so new clutch, 6 paddle ceramic cushion button, wow was better again. Good clutch sorted.

Down the quarter it ran a best of 12.6 @ 118mph on street tyres runnin a 2.1 60ft, stock motor 15psi.

Now blown the gear box again so have pulled motor out to start the rebuild process. So if anyone has parts they want to palm off to me (T56 or C4, Some Internals they never used) or any advice on what to do with all the externals of the motor would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Chris

horses - just pm'd you asking for update, but you've already done it! So what has given the power increase from 226 to 285kw? That's huge. Is it just the bosch pump + non-slipping clutch? Awesome 1/4 mile time by the way....you'd be happy with that after the time and effort you've put in to the AU. Great to hear its running well (aside from gearbox!).

Thanks joe

All i've really done now is wound up the boost a bit, with tuning as well of course we have only tuned this on road havn't got it on the dyno yet. Terry reckons he could of got about another 30 to 50rwkw out of it if I got him on a dyno with it.

Now i've just got to save up some money's and decide what i want to do with the car i'm at that stage do i keep her on the street or do i start to build a drag car out of it or do i go and buy an escort or corty? I just cant make my mind up at the moment. Time will tell what ever i do it won't be back on the road till at least june, july next year As my girl hasn't got a job so i'm copin all the bills can't save much at the moment.

I'll be in contact 67RCE
Cheers

Chris
