So I decided that I could not wait two years until I get my open license and bought the following,
Still have a few things on my list and will post pictures when I get them but the first thing I had to try was an air intake from plazmaman. After having the growler for so long I wanted to try something different. I'll probably take the extractors off the old BA and have an exhaust made up to suit, I've already taken the TB and wheels from the old car. I don't want to take to many things off it, might just see what happens when I have to pay rego for two falcon's haha. I made sure it had the zf 6 speed auto which is a massive change from the 4 speed auto.

Bought a set of Option 18" BF MKII Wheels From MacArthur auto parts (At a great Price)
Put them on the car yesterday, also had the front bar off to add a piece of black aluminium mesh in the section between the cat killers. As well as pulling out the headlights to put those annoying bright bulbs in and just cleaned everything in and around that front bar area.

Car is booked in at ford tomorrow for a general service mainly to check for any error codes or major issue's etc.
(hoping there is none) I asked about an Fluid change on the ZF 6 Speed auto and the first thing to come out of the guys mouth was they are sealed for life why do you want to change the fluid. I Said I had heard that plenty before and was unsure of the cars service history and he gave me some details, was told that they have two kinds of transmission fluids. The Genuine Fluid which is roughly $1000 not sure of the name and a cheaper type of Fluid roughly $500-$600 both for a full change Don't quote me but around 14 litres plus around $260-$300 in labour on top. I have decided that I will be getting this done once its tax time. I will reply once I have gotten the car back tomorrow and share the news. Oh and I think I have decided what to do with the old car, as I have two years until I am on my opens why not spend that time rebuilding the engine so it will handle a turbo.... That's the best Idea I could think of so far in regard's to what will happen with the old BA but I change my mind a lot haha.

May I offer a little advice? If you are UNSURE about the vehicles service record, why not change the Brake Fluid as well, something most people and Dealers forget about. I don't mean cleaning out the master cylinder and putting new fluid but a complete FLUSH of the system.
As to your Auto, how many K's has it done? has the vehicle been treated badly? because, they usually don't need the oil changing regularly so, if it is under the 80,000 to 100,000 klms I wouldn't worry about doing it yet. The Auto oil is ONLY available from Ford in 1 Litre containers and it needs 8 litres at change and, if you still want it changed, a new filter for the Auto would be a good idea. |

That's a good idea Probably wouldn't have thought of doing that first up, never did it in the old car
At least if I give it to ford I will have a list to start on right? The Car has done 120,000 klms doesn't look like it's been treated badly but hard to tell, I was kinda going on better to be safe then sorry. Thankyou for the advice

They say the ba btr doesnt need a service either "unless the cars used for towing or motorsport"
What a load of s**t lol. The Btr's are made of cheese as it is. I would suggest getting it done for piece of mind. And always do the filter.

It's funny that you mentioned the btr 4 speed I have the gasket/seal and filter to service one in my old BA I just never got around to looking for the fluid/prices etc.
tisk tisk. I think at 260,000 klms the old girl has earned it haha, hopefully my tax return pleases both of the needy b**ch.

Before you go throwing your HARD earned cash to a dealer who MAY or MAY not have the expertise to do the job (Auto Oil Change) properly, it may be an idea to search for an Auto Transmission specialist to do the job as they usually have more experience with looking at the 6 speed Auto.
If you were here in NSW I could give you a few people to see but QLD, not so. My only suggestion with seeking out a good Auto place is look at their workshop before you commit to a service with them, I have found that dirty and untidy workshops show what sort of job they do to customers cars. |

Well last night I gave the interior a meticulous clean with Maguire's classic shine.
Car is at Ford now getting its 120,000 klms service, can't wait to see the results. That's true I do remember someone posting about a bad experience with a ford dealer f**k up the 6 speed auto after an oil change I would not be against driving to NSW to have the work done at a reputable auto mechanic, I will start looking around in QLD but probably wont be happening for a month or so. Thankyou. I'm going insane having the car at ford why is it such a strange feeling, Maybe I have trust issue's...

Having said that, I doubt that they will ruin your car. Good thing about the Meguiars too, I use their products and have never been sorry. |

So I got the call from ford yesterday afternoon telling me that my car has been serviced, Oil Change etc. and they were wondering what other issue's I wanted resolved.
First problem was the brake fluid was due for a change, so I had them flush the system and add new fluid for $65. The Rear diff mount bush are split same with the control blade bush, the dude quoted something ridiculous like $1200 to have them done off the top of his head and I said ill sort it out. I'm going to get one of the rear end superpro bush kits off eBay for around $800, I know some thing's wont need to be replaced with that kit but I may as well do it when I drop the IRS system. Also some of the Control arm bush's in the front are perished, Probably just do the same buy a front end superpro bush kit I think the front one from eBay is like $300. I want to buy front and rear Koni shocks to install with all the dang bushs but will probably keep the stock springs, I like the current height and I couldn't stand the scraping in the old car. Radiator fluid needs to be changed and I knew that, just waiting to buy a new radiator/ overflow bottle as well but still haven't figured out if the trans cooler is still built into the radiator on the BF MKII... and If people have been able to by pass it. Brake's feel awesome but I still want to replace the wheel hubs, rotors and pads. In the end I was only charged $310, I will scan the list/receipt in the next few days and post it. Probably going to pay the rego on the old BA and drive that Until the new car gets all its new bits. Still looking into extractors, cat and exhaust but not sure what to do about the second oxy sensor after the cat... Might just have a single 3inch system made up with a 3inch venom cat and we can figure it out later haha, I will also steal the extractors from the BA haha My eBay watch list is pretty crazy atm Can't wait till the end of this month. One thing I have always wanted is the Viper intake manifold from atomic but setting aside $1900 will take some time considering the above list I only think I have seen one person use it on aff. Probably do some tinkering on the weekend and take some more pictures

I just thought I would share this with you guys,
My girlfriend surprized me with a birthday cake she secretly made on Saturday. Also Had a win on my favourite pokie machine whilst knocking back a few JD's at the local Surfy. Trust me when I say I will get around to working on the cars, Just a little pre-occupied with my Birthday and Work.
