From memory Ben, I think I have 2' blocks under it. I'll stick my head under there again tomorrow and let you know.

Also, I'm on the prowl for a EL set of thermo fans with the single plug. What's the going rate for a set of these anyone?

Mine are the EF ones with the two plugs. Could be very easily adapted over.
$40 would cover it.
Maybe even a set of E7 heads someone has lying around?

I've still got them in the shed Matt although they don't have any valves, springs rockers etc. If you want them as they are(nil warpage), put those thermos aside and I'll come down to a Liverpool FM cruise and we'll do a trade!!

Porting tip #1: Use a decent air compressor!!

My port job made a very noticble difference. I'll let you know what I did with mine.

Question: Does anyone think that I'll gain anymore grunt by plugging in a EL2 XR8 ECU bearing in mind that I have an explorer inlet and pacemaker extractors? My engine would certainly be putting out more than 185kW at the flywheel as it is now but perhaps I might get a few more by plugging in the 185kW ECU? Your thoughts?

Started work on my twin exhaust system today. It was a bit hit and miss and really what I expected hence why I bought 2.5" pipe to compensate for crush from the pipe benders. Firstly, a close up of some of the goodies I purchased for this job:

Some new mufflers.

6 metres of 2.5" ACMS pipe:

Some left over exhaust ends off my old BA XR8:

Some heat shielding off a couple of AU sedans so that I don't burn my fuel lines and filler pipe:

Then I got bending. Hmm I ended up crushing the tube which looks poo. I ended up filling up the pipe full of sand to stop it from crushing and the results were good:

Under the car:

So far, I have got up to the diff as it started to rain and made work very miserable. Also ran out of mig wire so I had to use flux cored mig wire which leaves slag everywhere but the main thing is that there are no leaks.

I took the car out for a run and was amazed at the mid range urge I get now, it is chalk and cheese. The sound is pretty unique too as there is no H or X pipe fitted but that may change after I finish the pipework to the rear bumper. I'll wait till then. Anyhow, here is a sound file for those interested.
