Well I've finally upgraded from my old EB wagon to a 94 EF Futura

Heres what I got

Image

Image

Image

As you can see the engine bay is really clean, might be trying to hide something only time will tell
310k on the clock
Pacemaker extractors and some sort of exhaust
It has been lowered but I'm not sure by how much or what springs its got
Interior is in good nick

Now the not so good things
The door seals on the drivers door and passenger rear door need to be re-attached
Few shopping centre dings some doors aren't 100% but that will soon be fixed
The drivers power window wouldn't go up smoothly (fixed now thanks to MadMatt)
Air-Con needs to be re-gased
Spare Tyre is bald bald
It needs a wash
The CD player was wired up wrong and it can stay on while the cars off
Only has steelies (have rims to go on as somepoint)
Rooflining isn't the best again soon will be fixed

Price $1200

Things to do:
LPG Conversion
Better Stereo
Replace Roof Lining
Aftermarket Head Lights
Replace some doors and rear bumper
Maybe a Climate Control Conversion to
T5 conversion

Any comments or suggestions on what I should do will be appreciated :D

Wash, polish and factory hubcaps!

Then start checking for leaks.

Looks tidy, headlights dont look yellow either so thats a score.

You can add the rear power windows easily enough to go with the fronts.

Have got some Fairmont I think rims but he tyres are completely bald just need to replace two of them and swap the front ones over, the passenger side light needs to be replaced as the mounts for it are broken :( might pop off to u-pull-it tomorrow or sometime when it cools down.

One slight thing is that I seem to be missing a gear, won't shift manually when going from D to 3 but it will from 3 to 2.
Any ideas why this would be happening? The box seems really stong shifts great and there is plenty of fluid.

However I'm planning a manual conversion in the nearish future, need to rebuild the box first because the Synchro's are gone.

Once the heat comes down I'll get to giving the outside a good clean.

Cheers for the idea's guys

Right after finally getting some new tyres for the front (Bridgestone ER300 205/65/15) on the EF Fairmont rims I got off MadMatt and SimonL a while ago, originally destined for the Wagon, have now fitted these to the Futura.

This is the rim

Now on the car

Also doing this gave me a good oppotunity to see what suspension I was riding on in the front, as it turned out there was still a sticker on the drivers side spring which told me I've got Lovells FFL-47 Springs, are according to their website these are "Sport Low" springs, will find out whats in the rear soon

Heres what they look like with Tag still on
Image

Now this shocks I've got no idea on here are a few pics if someone is able to help me out with identifying them that would be great

Also the car has had a wash since these, got too dark to give it a cut and polish but that will happen when it cools down and there is still light

Ok update time, the car has had a cut and polish but still needs another one (and a wash now that it rained last night), also have done the blue LED conversion, was a pain in the backside but i'm happy with the results and have also installed my CD player from my wagon, already a better sound.

Pic of the car looking better

Image

Now during the LED conversion I was putting a bulb in i had the lights on at the time, needless to say i somehow I think managed to short it out and smoke started rising from the hole for the bulb, not good. Also in this process I lost half the lights so I though have to take it apart and find out whats wrong and sure enough I had blown a circuit

Image

About 5 minutes later and some solder and it looked like this

AND was happily working again

Next stop getting LPG put on, then when the rebate comes in upgrading those damn awful front stock speakers.

Looking good :D

BTW, thank you. I finally know exactly which springs I need. Ride height is almost perfect for me, just needs to be slightly lower in rear. Cheers!

Lookin good mate. Good to see you have a list and are working to it. The $900 will certainly help the mods and fix her right up for a good weekender!

Hey Dave, If your looking for a cheap gas install go to hillers ford on o'sulivans beach road in lonsdale there. I got a system from him for $500 had it installed for $1000 and when I got the rebate back I made $500. that was 2 years ago and the gas is still running fine.

well time for an update

Most of the Adelaide members might have seen it at the bushfire appeal cruise,

Now I have the rear spoiler installed and gas is going on on Friday, Sprint Gas system for $2200 cash.
Also some of the doors have been replaced with better condition ones

What else have I done on it? Slowly polishing it up and getting it looking good, still need to respray the bonnet and bumbers.

After the rebate for the gas comes back, might start looking around for parts for the manual conversion.

Still to come:
Manual Conversion
Upgrade Speakers (Sub and Amp)
Replace Rooflining
Tinting

Then I can start looking at things like:
Engine Mods
Changing interior around a bit
