Well, hello again.

I picked up a couple of odds and ends over the last little while, and thought I would put up a couple of pics of mods to come.

I popped up to Doyalson to see my mate Paulmac and came home with this.
It should provide some nice bonnet ventilation.

I managed to pick up some lights for zip. A good look when done.

And on a visit to Pick N Payless these fell off an ED XR8 and followed me home.

There is also a rear skirt to match. They are USC branded, and for $60 I couldn't say no.

I will post up details on these as they are completed.

Cheers
BenJ

I would never cut up a good XBGT Bonnet.

It is completely rusted out down the left hand side and is beyond salvaging. This bonnet even has the recesses for the bonnet pins.

DUDE --- Wish I was in Aussie... Side skirts are on my list before paintjob, as is those rather bothersome Ghia wood panels on the door linings... Doing some photoshopping of different colours for my wagon now. $80 for the skirts and the rear... Score!

Dammit :P now troyman's interest is piqued, I think I'll end up being the last boxcar owner on here without the BA headlight mod soon at this rate

*grumbles about the lack of hours at work*

I have been on the lookout for some side skirts and matching rear for a couple of years now. I was not prepared or able to fork out for new stuff, and in this case was just being at the right time in the right place, and getting them for the right price.

Yes, I agree. The fact they will work with the Sprint spoiler was the main reason I decided to grab them.

Yes the BA lights will be modded to fit inside the EB lights. Will look the part I think.

LOL, I only know of 3 cars so far, so there is plenty of time to still be unique.

Yes, the bonnet mod will be good.

Re the other, just a matter of time............

Cheers

I read and re-read and then re-look at all your pretty pictures and all that regularly. Whenever I fell down and out about the whole "spend every minute and every spare cent on the bloody car" thing...

I don't know why the hell I was looking at this thread again in so much detail last night but the missus poked her head around to look at screen (admittedly it is her LG 23" widescreen plasma monitor)... I was looking at your series of photos 1-5 (back on page 2 or something from memory) where you say "I like number 1 or 4." I am glad you have not gone with 4 - it looks awfully Commodore Berlina to me.

Anyway. The missus (who may not be long if she keeps this up...)

Missus "Why the hell is anyone proud of that car"
Me "It is an older model than mine right?"
Missus "Yeah..."
Me "But it has my door handles... That should tell you something is going on"
Missus "Ahahhhh..."
Me "And it has my mirrors. That should tell you something is going on."
Ahaah
""And it (quick change of photos) has half my motor, diff, That should tell you something is going on...'""
Ohhhh
""And it has better seats than mine...""
Ahaaah, right
""And it has my dash, interior and the LTD style door lamps""
Oh for f**k, someone who is as equally f**k up as you. My god, there's more of you. Bloody hell...

And with more colourful language forcing its way through clenched teeth she snuck out of the room to make some urgent phone calls (at 10pm...)

This left me with no one to explain the rest of the mods and similaraties to.

She almost had convulsions when I decided to put a trip computer in so now take the car elsewhere when anything more important to the correct operation of car than a floor mat gets removed!

Sounds just like my wife.

"It's just a CAR"

They just don't understand sigh

Oh well, who cares, the mods will continue regardless.
