just get a "spotter" to watch the fuel hose in the engine bay and give the key a quick flick and see if fuel comes out.

The fuel pump relay is not working at this point. I think it is because half of the wiring is missing so the ECU won't trigger the relay as it isn't receiving the signals it expects.

No, I will keep the loom separate. It will interface at the ECU end and only a couple of wires need to go in to the engine bay.

Oh go on then, be like that. Now you and Paul will have bloody manuals and I will be stuck with the damn auto..... :)

Off to get my beast tomorrow so I can start converting the ED into an EL with an ED body. Auto will have to do for now. I will just have to be happy with the fact that I had a wagon before both of you  You're still a bas.........nah, can't say that

Cheers

A quick show of hands who has a manual wagon....

Fiends hand goes up - although his manual is sitting in the boot and the clutch is 20km away in a workshop.

Still, legally speaking - there is a T5 in the car. Yay.

I was going to put a T5 in my supercharged EL, but I'm wondering now... the auto is in good nick and I will probably blow the T5 if I get the 250rwkw I'm expecting.

/on topic... Yeah... Although slightly off topic, this does serve the function of doing a "bump" but much more nicely about it. Rightiho./..

OK UPDATE TIME!!

I have now finished the Serpentine Belt Conversion on the ED Engine.

Image

Image

You can see in the last photo how the XH Belt Tensioner really has a big kink in the top, allowing it to clear the Log Manifold.

I put a new seal in the timing case, marked the correct timing mark as well as giving the Harmonic Balancer a quick coat of black paint.

I also cleaned the timing case and all the parts. I sourced a new water pump and XH Belt.

List of Parts Required

EF-EL Water Pump
EF-EL Power Steering Pump and Mounting Bracket and Bolts
EF-EL Alternator and Mounting Bracket and Bolts
EF-EL Black Support Bar (goes from top Alternator Bolt to bottom Pwr Steer bracket Bolt)
EF-EL Harmonic Balancer
EF-EL A/C Pump
XH Ute Belt Tensioner OR
Use EF-EL A/C Pump spacers, cut them in half and use the EF-EL Tensioner May need different bolts etc for pump mount and will need a special length belt.
EF-EL Radiator and Lower Radiator Hose (Hose diametre is different on the Water Pump)
Recommend using EF-EL Upper thermostat housing and Upper radiator Hose

You MUST have done or do the Thermo Fan Conversion.
I worthy upgrade IMO.

Next step is to remove the auto and flex plate so I can install a new rear main seal, before the flywheel goes on.

I have made a good start on the LPG wiring and should have it done soon.

Cheers
BenJ
