Looking good BenJ!

I especially love your write up about the rear sway bar, but i wonder how long the bush will last like that? I'm wanting to fit a rear swaybar to my Hz pano as the rear end in them just feel's crappy without one, and will need to do a similar overall process to yours to fit one.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

you planning on putting those fogs on the BA bumper or just leave it on the old in case you change your mind?

Ben, it would appear that you COULD use a BA spring in the rear. The AU one you can use for sure as the Sports suspension is the same as far back as the ED XR. They do use a BA spring on the Standard suspension on the AU wagon. The AU ute uses the BA springs which is NOT surprising.

The rest I suppose are just rebound setting changes.

Many thanks good sir.

Nice work Ben, love what you done to the bumper.

Ta, good to hear from you again. You will have to do my indicator mod now LOL.

How many different models are there on your front end now?
... BTW the side skirts would set it off nicely.

Hmmm, lets see, EB, XB, BA. That's about it I think.

Side skirts are being sorted.

Damn Benj, that looks hot, well done! With the Bar lights like you said added, would set it off perfectly!

Yep, am keeping an eye out for the BA Fairy lights. Would prefer the original driving lights, but, the cornering lamps would still look the part.

I am not sure on how long the bush will last. What I plan to do, is buy a couple of spares soon, and have them handy as I do expect some premature wear.

The good news is that, Snap is coming to visit again, and I want to see if he can weld on a sedan type bracket or use the plate on the Ubolt, and weld it on instead.

My current fogs won't be fitted. But am looking for factory BA Fairmont lights.

I am going on the Fordmods annual cruise to Bathurst on Saturday, and am looking forward to hitting the mountain for the first time in the Wagon, and a manual car too.

I will report back on how we go.

Sedan type brackets could work if you can get the right bushes to suit it & your bar. Good Thinking!

Today we had the Fordmods Annual Bathurst Cruise.

Had a good trip there and back. I had my family accompany me, which means I had four adults and picnic gear in the Wagon. Lets just say that I REALLY NEED new shocks, and some sort of airbag system would be sweet, but very unlikely. LOL.

I had fun punting the Wagon through the twisty bits, and it sounded really good with the exhaust echoing off the walls.

I took a few pics while on the mountain taking advantage of the scenery. Hope you like them.

I was lucky enough to pick up a Wade 1673 cam from another member during the week.

As I was busy on Saturday, Bathurst Cruise, I arranged for Troyman to drop around this afternoon and supervise. I needed a bit of guidance with the timing chain tensioner, and Troyman has a home made tool he uses for the job too.

No pics to speak of for this one. We all know what a cam looks like LOL.

Luckily I had a spare set of rocker gear and I was able to remove all the shims from it. Used some masking tape to hold in the lifters while I reassembled it all.

I do have to say that the rocker gear bolts have to be one of the most tedious things to tighten up and tension. But got it all done to spec in the end.

I got it all assembled and turned the engine over by hand just to make sure there was no issues. Nothing was binding etc, so I put it all back together, and fingers crossed started it up.

First turn of the key, and away she idled, with a slight lope to the exhaust note now. And not even a lifter rattle either. And to top it off, not even the slightest hint of hunting.

Sounds gooood.

There was a small amount of timing chain noise, but then the tensioner pressurised and it all went away.

Went for a test drive on Petrol only and you can feel the cam coming in strong from around the 2700rpm mark and pulls hard all the way. I only took it up to 5000rpm after 10 mins driving. Engine feels nice and strong.

Got back home and installed all the LPG gear, and again, cranked it over and idled beautifully on LPG. Driving on LPG has the same bottom end as before, stronger mid range, but the lack of top end is now more noticeable.

Overall, I am very impressed by the Wade 1673, and the improvements made to the driving experience.

I will be using Petrol instead of LPG a bit more I think now LOL.

Let's just say that I gave it a fair bit in 2nd making a right hand turn, and found myself using a bit of opposite lock, and grinning from ear to ear.

Cheers
BenJ

Good fun hey

Im amazing what a cam change can do, i had my doubts when i first went about it. I went pretty mild so id love to chuck in a 1673 or bigger and see what it does.
