{USERNAME} wrote: The biggest issue I have is the front bolt on the right hand side of the sway bar D Bush has had the thread stripped out of it. I tried to put another nut in above the original captured nut, but the nut is too thick. For the moment I have an original bolt in there but it won't tension up correctly and lets the D shackle pull away approx 2mm. Will have to get the brains trust on this. (Hi Snap!!!) I did the same on the XH - ground down a suitable nut to fit, from memory, I think it needed to be thinner. It fitted in okay, and I could just get an open ender on it.Did you change to EL 'D' bush brackets ???

yeah, used to be good when my dad brought the truck home from work, he has a crane truck and sometimes a flatbed truck, so removing motors and picking up cars were easy as piss lol.

EL's have a dimple, to help locate the D bush. The brackets probably stronger due to this.

Well, mine has a dimple. I did take these from the Red car, which I may have used the brackets from the EL I got the Pedders sway bar from.

Nice work on the sway bars & bush upgrade. That bush in the front of the sub frame is a bugger to get out isn't it? But with a FBH & a long smashing rod, you can remove it.
Sounds like a sway bar upgrade is well worth the money & time. Cheers ToranaGuy

Got a wheel alignment done this afternoon as it was needed after the front end rebuild.
The toe was out just a tad at +14 with an equal +7 each side, and is now a much more appropriate +3 at +1.5 per side. And it would appear I got the caster and camber spot on with my highly scientific approach of taking a good hard look at the front wheel, and going, hmmm, too much lean, add in a couple of shims, stepping back and having another gander, hold tounge at correct angle out of mouth, Nope too much, take a shim out, PERFECT!!!! Drives much nicer now. Just have to fix the sway bar bracket bolt thingo, and then it will be done. Cheers BenJ
