Wow buddy, lookin bloody good! You are making nice progress there and should be ticking along real soon. I am so jealous of the fact that you are making such good progress AND that you now have a 5 speed :)

Cheers
RD

This should prevent an issue the Red EB is suffering, which is air blowing down in the passenger footwell while at speed.
i would to know some more regarding this air blowing on the passenger footwell while at speed,is it just due to the foam around the air box

correct me if im wrong but i believe it between the air vent in the enginebay section where the air is ducted from and the heater unit itself, pushing itself through and onto the passenger's feet

I just love seeing engines on hoists that are going back in.... Ohhh, yeah..... One day I'll be up to that - general consensus would state the week after the EF's ticking turns to clunking - until then it's going to be a test of my new found confidence to even attempt the manual conversion.

You guys are the wind beneath my wings

Woooo Hooooo

It's aliiiiiiiiiive.

Yes, that is correct. I have test driven the Wagon, with the T5, running on Petrol, and . . . . It is goooooood.

Still have a few things to tidy up, like, put in the thermo fans, centre console, tidy up the wiring under the steering column and install the LPG wiring.

In addition to that, snap0964 installed the EL wagon tailgate setup so the tailgate locks and unlocks with the car.

Re the wiring, the EB1 is very different to the EB11. I had to use the EB1 throttle body and injector loom and most of my morning was spent sorting that out.

We also found out why the wagon wasn't running on petrol. The fuel pump relay base was so corroded and messed up it couldn't connect to the pins on the relays. The solution was to cut the base off and use spade connectors and an aftermarket relay.

Sorry but there are no pics at the moment, but I hope to have some tomorrow.

Cheers
BenJ

Excellent stuff, well done. I look forward to all the pics. It certainly does help to have all the gurus in the various areas to get all the good things done. Am more then jealous now!

Can't wait to see the beast in the flesh....

Cheers

I found that out too, its like ford decided the EB 1 should have the least amount of circuitry of any of the boxcars.

Hi Again.

This afternoon I got to work piecing the Wagoon back together.

Troyman dropped around and gave me a new lower air box, as the one in the Wagon was in several pieces. That allowed me to reinstall the mixer in the intake path and add the XH intake snorkle as well.

I put the bumper back on and then Luke and I went for a short drive. We had to go to Woolies and put in some petrol in the Wagon. I am happy with how the Wagon goes at this point. I want to give the engine a well overdue service before exploring the limits of performance.

I have dropped the thermo fans in, but have not wired them up yet. That will be the job for tomorrow afternoon. I have all the bits, just have to do it.

A couple of pics of the engine in place.

And of course the obligatory shot of the self shifter.

I have made a good start to piecing the interior back together and I should have the final piece needed tomorrow afternoon.

Cheers
BenJ

Looking good Ben. Nice work.
I happen to have a pile of the dark grey dash plastics and interior plastics from the EB1 Ghia sedan I stripped sitting here gathering dust and dog hair if you want them.

EVL098 - Thanks mate. I appreciate the offer but the dark plastic won't be staying all that long.

Banarcus - Cheers buddy. The Wagon is to be my new daily driver.

The plan is to put the EL interior in out of the Red EB. I will probably do the door trims and external mirrors and door handles first, while I decide what approach to take re the wiring.

I will need to replace the engine bay loom with EB11 wiring to work with the EL dash and EB11 loom, so I am considering sourcing EL Fairmont dash and engine looms instead.

The work would be much the same labour wise, and the wiring is much neater.

The Red EB will slowly be de modded, while still maintaining driveablility, as the Wagon needs to earn my trust before I can depend on it as my sole source of transport. The the driveline will be transplanted in to the Poly ED Ghia.

But, for a while at least I will be cruising around with the EB dash and console.

I will shortly be swapping the front struts and springs between the wagon and the Red EB. At the moment, due to the lowering blocks, the Wagon rear end sits lower than the front, and I hate that. LOL

Cheers
BenJ
