BenJ, i feel ya pain with the clutch cable, my cable snapped in the same position about 3mths ago, but i didn't loose the damper, luckily. I was only a couple of blocks from home, so i got my mate to tow me the couple blocks to home.

I had to adjust the cable up fairly tight due to the clutch fork, being bent a little & i think the pressure plate in my EB is starting to pack it in as well. I have a full kit here to fix all that, but haven't had the chance to fit it, but i must soon. Adjusting the clutch cable up too tight makes them stretch & snap pretty quick. If the cable has to be adjusted up very tight, to near the end of it's adjustment, something else isn't right......

Cheers

ToranaGuy

trying to drive a car without a clutch pedal at all...

Wow I wont be going to try that anything soon... Getting them out of gear is easy but into the next gear... Not sure I'd be quite talented enough for that without grinding something...

Its like Old V8 supercar style there Ben (pre the lazy sequential box they run now)...

Hope I catch mine before that ever happens to me...

Car looks good... Oh and I sent you a PM as I'm sure your already aware of... No doubt you'll be sick of me and my questions soon... Only one way to learn though....

Cheers,
Tim

Cars are fun, aren't they?

I believe you can start in the 3d and go (from my experience, Audi were able to do this easily, can not see any reasons why Ford can’t) without changing gears=abusing clutch and gearbox.
Good luck with new cable.

yes you can.. but its rather difficult.
as i found when i snapped the clutch damper on the way home from work a couple years ago.. (the one on the fork that connects to the cable)

basically need a big battery that can take the abuse of the startermotor doing the bulk of the work till the car fires. when mine did i nailed it so it didnt stall

i was just fortunate enough to be on the back road home which meant no traffic lights.

OK, the spare clutch cable I put in was really, really, bloody awful. It sucked big time. I am not a small bloke by any description, and I was having trouble pushing in the clutch. And when you let it out it would feel like the pedal was going to stay on the floor, then it would release. However it was sooooo stiff you couldn't feel the take up point. ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

So, I spoke the the minister of war and finance and got approval to get a new cable. Went to Bursons and for $71 was able to walk away with a new clutch cable. Yay!!!

Installed it yesterday, and OMFG, the clutch has never felt so light and useable. Even when I put in the old new cable, that just broke, it wasn't this good.

Very happy now!!!!

Cheers
BenJ

Sucks trying to drive with no clutch. When my clutch fork and bellhousing broke I was up on the Gold Coast, had to limp it through a heap of traffic lights.... starting in 1st, jumping to 3rd and using the starter to get moving is not fun in traffic!
There's no chance you could start off in 3rd gear though!

Good to see yours was an easy fix though!

Hey All.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of a visit from 'ausedwagon' from Melbourne and his ED Wagon.

It was a great to meet a fellow Wagon enthusiast and compare ideas and mods.

Here is a couple of pics I took with the two Wagons together.

The top pic really shows the difference between Low and Super Low springs.

Can anyone guess what this used to be?

Cheers
