I shall have to investigate to see if the self levelling compressor is still in the lane. The rest of the evil s**t has been removed long ago , but I will check to see if the switch and stuff is still there.
Where would the compressor be mounted in an NF?Im tipping under right front guard but cant be stuffed pulling random stuff off just checking.

I do believe the pump is under the right guard.
The self leveling switch would be mounted on the watts linkage. Cheers BenJ

Will have a look when I get a chance.
Yeah Im up with the switch being at the watts linkage. Just dunno if mine is still there. I know the wiring is.

I'm interested to see if that stuff can be removed easily. All the rest of the SLAS gear in mine is gone, so I'd like to take out the switch, air lines and compressor.

I don't know of a cheap "reliable" factory compressor, check out some wrecked 4WD's, there might be a ARB compressor bolted under bonnet or seat etc, I have my fathers old under bonnet compressor that ARB used to sell back in the early 90's(ARB is not written on it), made in Australia and it has had a hard time as my father does a lot of beach fishing, awesome bit of gear, mini air tank and pressure shut off switch. In the future I am looking at running a rotary compressor to pump (not much quicker than them) up the tires on the "Tefal Toaster" after running on the beach etc (I'm impatient), might use it for the mont then.

REAR TIRES
Bogan Spec FTW While I was installing the air bags on Sunday, I noticed the LingLong Freebie tires on the back were showing a bit thread on the inside edge. They were quite worn when there were put on, and I had noticed the rear was getting nice and skatey (that is supposed to be a bad thing so I am told) in the wet. Considering I am due to take the Wagon on a cruise to Bathurst this coming weekend, I swapped out the alloys for some stockies with legal tread (still entertaining in the wet) and went on the hunt for some replacement rubber. After the release of the FG XRs I noticed that the XR6s have 245/45/17 fitted. After a bit of a hunt around I found that this size is now available from most makers at reasonable prices. I chose Rotalla after a chat with my local tire bloke, who advised the Rotalla was actually quite a good tire for a Chinese brand, and for $130ea fitted and balanced for 245/47/17s I laid out some moolah. I chose the 245/45/17 for a couple of reasons. Wider tire is an obvious one, but I also wanted the slightly taller side wall. My speedo has always read 8k under at 100 when compared to the GPS and this will correct that a little, and the taller side wall will also 'give' a little more on smaller bumps. In addition the wagon now has a bit of an old school look. The new tire next to the std sized 205/65/15 The 245s look fat from behind. A couple more just cause I can. ANOTHER AIR BAG PIC While I was changing the wheels around I took another pic of the air bags. Cheers BenJ

Well my compressor was working just fine but the switch was gone at the back end, You can dig it out from under the front guard any time you wish!

CRUISE TIME
I went on a cruise to Bathurst last weekend and took a few happy snaps. The day trip was just over 400kms and I used one tank of LPG for most of the run, except for a lap or two around the track. Just needs some more under the hood. But, I guess I am working on that LOL! Cheers BenJ
