Great, so just hook them up to 12V an switch on! awesome. Maybe I will buy some more for other projects.
I know the brakes upgrades cannot be justified. I had been toying with the idea of fitting 4 spots to the standard discs like the Jaguar's have. They had the same size discs as did BMW 7 series. I even bought a set of BMW calipers from the wreckers. I just haven't gotten around to making up the necessary suspension knuckles yet. I have spares so I just need to get busy machining brackets for a trial. I have a mate who is a Jag man and he says the S2 Jag brakes are great.

Looking good! lots a light there in the back!
i was thinking about doing something like this for the boot in my EF, im guessing the basics still apply. Attach the LED strip to the Positive and ground where the old light used to go? |

Attach the LED strip to the Positive and ground where the old light used to go? Yes, it is that simple. They are a direct wire up to 12v and earth. Cheers BenJ

Air Conditioning = FAIL
Well, the A/C worked well on Friday. Then it didn't. Over the weekend the air got so it was just at ambient temp, which was rather hot here in Sydney. I took it back to the A/C place and they checked it out and found that the compressor had leaked the gas out. They did do a Vacuum pull down on Thursday and it tested OK. This compressor was an unknown quantity, so I am not surprised. After getting the verdict I went to Pick N Payless and found an EL with the A/C system still gassed and grabbed the A/C compressor out of that. I have fitted it to the wagon. As usual nothing goes to plan. That stupid 10mm bolt that holds the pipes to the compressor wouldn't budge and ended up being rounded. Only solution was to grab the dremel and a cutting disc, and remove the head of the bolt. Not easy in such a confined space but I got it done. Will report back tomorrow after it gets gassed up again. Cheers BenJ

As it is different every day, I would suggest asking as you go in to be sure. LOL. Cheers BenJ

Air Conditioning = WIN?
Went back to the A/C place this afternoon, and they re-gassed the Wagon. Seemed to work as expected this afternoon, but time will tell. The Wagon is just about prepped for our QLD trip. Just have to check the oil, water, pwr steer, brake fluids etc on Saturday, then head off early Sunday Morning. I also have to add in a 12v socket to the cargo area for a little 12v fridge we are taking along. Cheers BenJ

QLD Trip
Had a few issues with water leaks this week. Last thing I needed before heading to QLD today. Turns out the reservior bottle had a couple of cracks, and the return hose to the radiator was dodgy too. I had a spare bottle, a fitted a new hose. No more leaks. YAY! After a few delays, we finally got away from Sydney by 9.15am. We made a couple of stops on the way up, and did the trip in approx 11 hours. I was happy to get approx 400kms from the LPG tank. We stopped at Kempsey for LPG and some Maccas. While at Maccas, a young man asked me if I was a member of Fordmods, to which I of course answered Yes. It was kawasakirider, who was heading south from above Gympie in QLD. I find it amazing the coincidence that we both stopped at the same time and place. Hitting the theme parks over the next few days, and then heading up to the Sunshine Coast for Christmas. Cheers BenJ

I have had the reservoir tank crack on my wagon. I went to Ford for a new one and the AU tank was cheaper by $30 so I got that one and a new hose as it's longer to suit. I figured that every old tank will be getting brittle and it's too important an item to have it dodgy. I had ended up with a cracked head because of the leaks.
Enjoy the parks with the kids.
