The only lines I can think of that are shielded is the data bus behind the dash, to the trip comp and climate (EF/EL). After reading a few Mustang forums, looks like the hall effect to TFI will need shielding, either with braid, or you could wrap std wiring with foil, and cover that with electrical tape. Also, the other thing mentioned often too, make sure you have decent earths, for the coil primary, and TFI.

Awesome!
Why go to Hurstville? There is a bunnings near you to get some plastic garden edging from to make some flares. It works for me and Yobbo.

FORDs FUBARed FIREWALL
Soooo, when I did the T5 conversion a little over 2 years ago, I had heard of the dramas that the manual equipped falcons have with the firewall collapsing where the clutch cable presses against. I thought to myself, that I can understand how a car that has had a clutch cable in for 15 years or more could eventually cause such a situation. So, in my wisdom, I guesstimated that I might have a firewall issue 10 or so years down the track. How wrong could I be? This wrong. No wonder the clutch pedal felt like a piece of rotten wood, and I kept having to adjust the clutch cable every second day!!!! So, a quick message to Troyman asking for some help, and with a donation from the boys of a small metal plate, Troyman fabricated a repair/support plate. Here it is fitted. Just in time too, as I don't think that little bit of metal was going to last much longer. The good news is that now the clutch pedal is much lighter, and has some feel to it, making driving an enjoyable experience once again. Quick Speaker Upgrade. As my wagon is an EB1 it was lucky enough to score the dainty little 4 inch speaker holes in the front doors. A previous owner had installed some Kenwood items that really sounded like crap with no real output to speak of. As I had the door trims off to Lube up the glass runners (another story for another time) I decided to throw in some Factory 6 inch speakers from a Ghia. I had already put the factory tweeters in place, and these would add some much needed mid range. So for those of you with an EA or EB1, a quick tutorial. 4 inch speakers. Remove speaker with screwdriver, and then drill out the pop rivets holding the metal/plastic basket to the door, leaving you with this. Enlarge hole with the tool of your choice. Mine is a Dremel with a reinforced cutting disc. Trial fit the speaker, and remove any additional offending bits of door, then drill some new holes for the screws, and attach to the door. Test with music of choice. Sounds much better to me. Cheers BenJ

BenJ wrote: FORDs FUBARed FIREWALL I have heard rather read about the firewall cracking but never experianced this myself or saw it until the picture was posted I assume that was a near worst case, case. I always seem to have more pedal box problems... had one in the old eb and recently in AU..... So I don't know if you have looked at your pedal box, might be worth your while incase the pedal box is near suffering some cracking..

I tore mine a lot more than that, I can assure you. Looks like the re-enforcement is done nicely. Next step is to toughen up the peddle box, before it tears, as it will.
Cheers ToranaGuy

Pedal box is a Snap special, and was reinforced prior to being installed. There is no way it can bend or warp.

In fact, I think there is a tutorial on how he does his. Yep, here it is CLICK ME. Next step for me will be a hydraulic setup. Cheers BenJ

Be wise to check your clevis behind the clutch pedal.
From memory they are pretty cheap from Ford - around $5-$8 ???

my firewall let go about 6 months ago, it split like a spiderweb so my brother welded a tamper machine regulator tag around it and that gave it the support it needed, but im still wanting to make up a plate to reinforce it, one that is big enough to go from brake booster across the cable hole. to spred the pressure evenly so it wont cause stress fractures.
